One thing I will add (Mason if you want to pin this) is that solos for this tune would occasionally play through this form twice. If you're in a jam and the song gets called, you may want to specify with the song leader if solos do the full verse or half. Great song! You should listen to Dan Tyminski and Ron Block singing this one 😉

I guess I'll pin it since you requested it...😂 Thanks for that info.

Ohh, I love this version you did! It's pretty simple, but sounds SO good!!

@@MasonCroneMusic It really is! Also, tutorials like this really help me better understand how to play more backup rather than "banjo solos" If that makes any sense! 😅

I think this is my new favorite tune on the banjo. Great job Mason!

That Ibanez sounds really good, nice looking too. The vine inlay has always been my favorite neck inlay pattern, I have it on my Goldtone too. Nice job on the song.

Again, I really wish I could give this more than one Like! Certainly deserves it. So in the Brother, Where Art Thou version, the singers repeat the last lyric line. Would that correspond to bars 6, 7, and 8 here?
@MasonCroneMusic2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! And I've actually never heard the version you're talking about, just do what sounds right 🙂

@@MasonCroneMusic It´s probably unfortunate it´s the one most people now seem to know better, but I do like how they repeat the line with the backup singers. Plus, even though it needs a banjo, there´s a pretty cool movie scene associated with it kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3WndqSdoqx8jMk

I play this in drop D tuning on acoustic. Gives it a solid bass line over the rhythm
