Man of Constant Sorrow

Maybe the 1960s are most remembered for the thrilling rock 'n roll that was everywhere--the Beatles, Stones, etc.--but it was also a great decade for folk music. Turn on the radio and you might hear the Animals one minute, and then Bob Dylan the next--but then Frank Sinatra. Boy, that was great. I recently posted my take on one of my favorites, "The House of the Rising Sun," and want to share another old song that I revere, "Man of Constant Sorrow." There are many versions of this song, and it is uncertain who wrote it. It is often attributed to one Dick Burnett, who published it in 1913. But when asked about it, Mr. Burnett seemed uncertain whether it was one of his songs or an old folk tune that he had found. Well, here's my attempt, and I hope you like it. Peace be upon you.
