Actually, here are the literal translation on the breakdown of each. 男儿= men in general, 当=should/should be, 自=self/oneself, 强=strength/strong. So really, in literal translation, "Mean should oneself strong." Although "Man of determination" or "A Man should strengthen himself" is in the same premise, I personally believe it means more based on the lyrics. IMHO, translation in my opinion should be "Man Should Be Strong".

It's kind of weird. This version never was released in any of the famous "Once upon a time in China" films starring Jet Li then Vincent Zhao. They used the original Cantonese sung by George Lam in the first 2 films. They used a Mandarin version sung by Jackie Chan in the ending of the 2nd and 5th film. They used a new Cantonese version sung by different singer in the 3rd film that was used again in the 4th. Where did this version come from? Also what is the name of the artist singing this version? It's never mentioned
