In the original crisis the homeless guy was a scientist who witnessed the big bang which was forbidden to do. Because of it he was forced to witness the end of all earths and live forever unable to prevent the destruction or save anyone. Or so he thought.

Hey! But at least Kara wasn't killed by Anti-Monitor! Constantine is replacing Pariah. I understand the idea of Barry relieving things already past. Since by going past the speed of light, and reaching the Tachyons...he soul is "moving backwards in time". Seems like another way to say how ppl see their life being replayed before dying. So yes, Barry "died" by sacrificing himself to save the surviving worlds. Felt refreshing how the change that perspective in the beginning.

Broad strokes, about 1/2 the comic and a lot of changed details. What’s kept is a dimension traveler who’s basically a warning system that the world they land on is next, (instead of pariah it was John Constantine and it was the universe or whatever instead of the monitor who took advantage of the situation) we have the end of earth 3 as a major point (no good Lex luthor sending his modified child to another world hopefully to save everyone) heroes being called upon to save the remaining 5 earths (no attack by shadow demons to prevent their alliance) making dimensional tuning forks to save the last earths (instead of combining all 5 to strengthen them they made them pass through the wall safely) and the final part did not happen with people going missing as instead pariah was transported again showing the threat isn’t over also Monitors death was used as the energy and trigger to power the tuning forks
