I never understand the hate towards Mother Teresa, maybe it’s because she was Catholic, and they hate Catholicism itself. Jesus has never given us authority to forgive people of their sins in His absence. The Holy Spirit was sent in His absence as a comforter and so that we can continue to be led by the Holy Spirit. The scripture you provided does not say we’re given His authority to forgive sins as the Lord has forgiven sins. We have authority to cast out demonic spirits and to heal. We were commanded to forgive others of what they have done to us and others otherwise the Lord will not forgive us of our trespasses. Which is also mentioned in the Lord’s prayer. Also, there is no where in the bible that says we are to worship Mary the mother of Jesus and there are Catholics who burn candles with an image of her and they also have idols of her e.g. statues, carvings. We’re not even supposed to have carvings of anything in Heaven or things of this earth, they are considered false gods and are idols. We can appreciate and respect her but we should not worship her. Being highly favored doesn’t mean that she is to be reverenced the way we give our reverence to the Lord Jesus. Being highly favored just means you are chosen to fulfill a particular task. There were plenty of others in the bible that had a task to fulfill prior to Mary such as Abraham, Noah, Moses, Joshua, David etc… We were never told to worship them either but we give respect. Thank you for this. I really battle with family over the celebration of pagan holidays. I swear to God, this might be true. I was born and raised in Africa but I went to hell in a vision and I was squeezed by a huge snake just like he said (Have you seen how big Snakes kill animals in the Forest?) that was how it squeezed me and I couldn’t die.
