Women who have never been treated with actual love (actual unconditional, respectful caretaking) can end up not really knowing what a 'good' man even looks like, and settling for a man who at least occasionally shows them minimal affection/compliments (and they learn to call that 'good'; or perhaps they watch a lot of TV drama (or come from physically abusive backgrounds) and they think violence is always on the table so any man who isn't physically violent is 'good'?
