All goals are coming from high crosses to the centre. Defence must be repositioned. It is so obvious. The forwards can only be effective if the defence is settled. Confidence start from defence. Amorim does not have enough players to chose from for a tactical game from the back. Winning start from defence up. Martinez is good but has to be repositioned so as to make mischief further up. No option there. Good luck United. Time is needed to get back confidence.

Regarding the clubs, I think any football fan would be in pain or feel sorry for the way MU players act ▶️. It is very painful. At this moment, I feel that everyone (fans, spectators, supporters, players, coaches, staff, directors, owners) at the club is stressed - worried, anxious. This is a state of being. Everyone at the matches is poisoned with this energy. A football match is present. Alertness, awareness in every pass, tackle, dribble, shot, run, reading of the game. Stress - worry and anxiety shift the attention of any player to look at the past (let them think about lost matches) and look to the future (let them think about winning). All this energy in the minds of the players takes them away from what they need to do. They need to act in tactical-technical terms every second. Furthermore, focusing too much on the result instead of performance leads to even more destruction. 'All we know is that stress makes anyone underperform. In any area. It's as if everyone knows it, but no one acknowledges it. It's as if everyone looks, but no one sees. But looking and seeing are two completely different things. The root problem at MU is energy and focus on the result (at least in this difficult time). The first and most important ones to change the mentality are the fans, the supporters. Why? Because they are the strongest energy in a club. They are the "water in the aquarium." The team is the "fish." Expecting healthy fish by not cleaning the water will not solve anything. The Club collective needs to heal, and the team is only 1% of that part.

Remember that these players did pretty well not long ago under the interim period with Nistelrooy. This shows that these players are not that bad. One should expect Amorim to learn them play better, step by step. Instead he learns them play worse step by step. It is obvious that this manager is not able to handle the players well in the culture within he now works and that his system is not fit in this league. It is too rigid and does not allow for intelligent decisions by each player during match. With this manager, it will go only one way, downwards to the bottom, whatever new players he gets. Also I do not think Amorim will get any of the top players to sign up under him, given that it is now obvious that he destroys the career of those working under him.

I am a little disappointed with the coach. He looks too static for my liking. A tactician should have second, third or even fourth tactical options and swith between systems from one game to the next. You can't be static on one system that is failing. I watch other coaches play 442, then in another they play 443, 4231, etc. Try something else Reuben

Give Ole this team, get him a number 9 like Osimhen and a left back like Mendes and you'd be surprised just how good a football this team is capable of. Amorim's three at the back system will never succeed on the long run at United. Last manager to try that system was Van Gaal, look how that turned out. It's not just the united DNA, it's not the United way. It's too slow in the build up, too defensive minded because you literally have five defenders at once, it limits the amount of players you have going foward. Old Trafford's cry is always ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK!!! Ole's football was not always pretty but it was built on the same principles as Fergie, quick explosive, counter atracking football. This team with two wing backs simply can't, you'd always fear leaving your defenders exposed when you go forward as wing backs when you attack and in the premier league they'd definitely exploit you. Amorim has to swallow his pride and accept that this system although successful at a club like Sporting in Portugual, is limited at a gigantic club like United. I'm done!

It's ludicrous to talk about sackings but Amorim needs to find something to hang his hat on and improve results as their current table position is unacceptable. Amorim is right to stick with his system and his idea but he will need to make some short term compromises and sensible decisions to survive this. The time to keep rotating and giving everyone a shout is long past, at this point he just needs points on the board. he needs to act fast as there likely won't be any further investment in January. Players like Casemiro, Eriksen shouldn't be at the club never mind the first team in a new 'high energy model'. Promote the youth that's already there, stick to to the same back 3, stop experimenting with profiles upfront when this is the worst front line in the club's modern history. Rashford for all his issues is still the best forward player at the club and he should be used temporarily then sold in the summer. You have to make the most of what you have to survive, then you can look at longer term measures.

Interesting question. Probably too early to say but I see your point. ATM I’m leaning towards a ten just cos of the composure and decision making. He will nick a ball, beat 2 players and just before the third is in touching distance, slot in a team mate or take a shot. My ideal wingback is going to be lightning quick, naturally tend to the overlap and have a deadly cross. Also those Trent up and overs. I think Amad would have to sheath a few boss talents if he was to be a full time wing back.

I can understand player egos but managers having egos is just idiotic. Football is ever changing and nearly all great managers have also been great adapters and changed their styles all the time. They have mostly emphasised on rock solid defence and not conceding. Ferguson, Ancelloti, Mourinho, Wenger. Multiple problems. First, the roster is poor for a club of that wealth. That def and midfield isn't top 5 across leagues. Amorim, I like him... but he needs to know that 4-2-3-1 and grind out a 0-0 or 1-1 is the play against top 6 in prem. especially when you are bottom 1/2 of table. Take risks and figure it our against lower table teams.
