What's more impressive is that it gave him confidence in his technical abilities. He did a drag back edge of the box vs Holland in Euro 96 that he would never have done before he went to Italy. The move was definitely good for him.

Huge respect for Ince and McManaman for going abroad and actually learning a new language. It’s a big cultural problem for the British in general that they are too ignorant to learn a foreign language and expect everyone to bend over backwards for them. It’s also been negative for the English national team as players won’t move and learn a new way of playing because they don’t want to leave their mates in the pub.

His contract demands at United were ridiculous. He wanted a guarantee to be the highest paid player at the club for the rest of his career. He demanded that if United bought a player and paid him £,100,000 per week, then his wages would go up to £,100,000 per week. He said to the press that all he wanted was "parity".
@karlclifford11765 жыл бұрын
I’d argue the likes of Ajax and Dortmund are very patient with young players because they want them to do well. Think it’s more a case of they HAVE to give them time because they don’t have endless resources to sign loads of players like teams in the Premiership.
@Revelian19825 жыл бұрын
And this is why the last time they won Champions Leagues was in the 90s.
@aidygooner5 жыл бұрын
With the amount of money Ajax regularly make they can definitely afford to make big signings but they have a proud philosophy which is very sustainable and gives them a famous identity. After all if they weren't producing good enough players then they'd sign players. After last season's shocking display in Europe they actually bought established big players this summer like Tadic and Daley Blind.
@Revelian19825 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Barcelona were chasing both those players.

8496ricko of course Fergie was right. Nobody neutral would suggest otherwise.
