But honestly though, they did change a lot of stuff in this game that I find to be anything ranging from slightly annoying to mildly frustrating. I still play and find it fun and get 10 pieces but its not without at least some form of "noooo! They changed so and so." That said, its hilarious to see NL fight the strawmen and go unhinged about the new changes.

@@loganzoromski6126 I think I can agree with that. After reading your comment I immediately booted up SAP for this new weekly and after going through the roster for it, I can see why. The goldfish was fun in that you could have a goofy little interaction to make animals cheaper. Now, it just sits there accumulating gold and being completely uninteractive. The alpaca got nerfed for some unknown reason despite it being just plain fun and not really overpowered when you magically shat out level two tier 6's consistently. Cat food builds in my opinion were in that same vein where you could hope and pray it got you out of a jam if you survived long enough, and even then, wouldn't really save you from unluck or your poor decisions. Now, it's just outright bad with one trigger.

Tbf, I am with NL on this one. Even though I am just watching NL play, I feel like a lot of the changes just remove the fun effects and there are a lot of pets that are still bad. Instead of nerfing all the time, they should make the unwanted pets better, or introduce new pets that will synergize with the weak pets better.

tbh, i feel like the devs were trying to make a meta with a lower power level across the board, where you don't e.g. see at least one 50/50 on every team after turn 13 and if they did it well, then once people get used to the changes, the previously weak pets will be fun to use, since they no longer have to compete with things like a bison or a heavily-scaled tier 1 pet

They literally did everything you asked. They redid owl and worm to work with jerboa, added a new synergy with perks and also introduced new synergies with toys. They moved porcupine down to tier 3 and it's much better now. They changed the rhino to work on faint so it's ability actually does something and made it so that hedgehogs and blowfish can win in the late game with the wolverine. They made the frigatebird useful as an anti bat instead of a dogshit scaler. Sure maybe one or two overbearingly strong pets got tweaks but they're still really good overall. Unless there's other "fun pets" that got utterly butchered that I didn't know about, all your points were addressed. Especially once you consider that nerfing OP units helps weaker units be useful.
