It's an amazing live experience ! I've seen them 3 times, the musicians are hugely talented and Su-metal (main singer) is amazing. And everyone on stage and the crowd is hugely energetic.

Haha love the look on your face once the riff and vocals kick in. My exact reaction when I first heard the band, now they're my favourite band besides Band-Maid :D
@Grington3005 жыл бұрын
Good reaction, I'm glad you liked it. Babymetal is unique in the way they fuse together metal instrumentation and the more pop-styled vocals. It only works because everybody involved is so good starting with Su-Metal, the lead vocalist who is exceptional and around whom the whole idea for the band was formed, Yuimetal and Moametal backing her up and then the Kami Band who support them in all their live shows. There are so many songs to recommend and every one of them is different. Explore a bit to see which you like best (some are more metal than others), their official videos are very good but their live performances are where they really excel.
@tawnkuimi-uru72125 жыл бұрын
"Such a contrast...but somehow it fits..." That is the very perfection of BABYMETAL. They never should have been able to pull the fusion of pop and heavy metal off, but they did...and in such an amazing way. And if you come to learn more about them, you will find the fan base for BABYMETAL known as THE ONE is just as every bit amazing as the group is. Loved your reaction!

Hi Mana! Babymetal is one of my favourite bands, I'm glad you like them! The Kami Band (their backing band) are some of the top musicians in the world, and the girls rock hard and give it their all every show. KARATE is the song that really got me hooked on them. It's about pushing on in the face of adversity and helping each other. I'd like to recommend checking out "Road of Resistance - Live in Japan" and "Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God Intro" to see what the group is really capable of.

A warning: This band is ridiculously addictive. I am not exaggerating! This seems to be the only group that if you listen to it one time, it will stick in your head. You may not like it at first, but as you keep listening, you will start having a change of heart for them. If you continue to search more, you may not be able to stop. And as you search deeper about them, you might find their origins shocking, because you won't expect three cute japanese teenage girls taking the metal world by storm. Should you continue your search, I definitely recommend Catch Me If You Can live. You will not regret it.

Outstanding! I just subscribed! Babymetal are completely legit! And I agree with everyone who said you must see them live. They are Otherworldly, they were meant to be experienced live! Wait till you see Kami Band (the band that they play live with) unleashed on stage. You have started a journey, if you are afraid to take it, stop right now. If you are ready, then welcome, but it will change you! No Joke, and this is not hyperbole, it will change you!

@rednab20015 жыл бұрын
Could not agree more....here is how it will change you. It will be the start of opening your eyes to music that is far different than Western music.....and to the realization that music in the West is stale and old, and that music, especially from Japan and Korea, is simply better and more innovative that it's Western counterpart. Especially when it comes to Japan....Japan has always played by their own rules and have been pretty much wheels off when it comes to music....the normal "rules" do not apply in Japan. Don't believe me....look up LadyBaby! When it comes to rock music, the Japanese are leaps and bounds ahead of the West. My personal addiction right now is the all female Japanese metal band "Band Maid." They are everything that is missing in Western rock music.

If you notice at the end when the three ghost looking things are unmasked, they are actually themselves, and you can see the reflection of each of the girls in the eyes of the opposing selves Most people think the song is about fighting evil but its about the girls fighting negatives within themselves. The three ghost figures are the inner demons like doubt,fear and selfishness that they must face and defeat.

Babymetal should not work. Mixing bone-crunching Metal with sweet J-Pop vocals is crazy. And yet it works brilliantly, creating something completely new. It's genius. And their lead singer, Suzuka Nakamoto aka Su-Metal, is one of the great vocalists of our time. Since you asked for other songs to react to, be prepared: Babymetal explore all genres of metal. Here's a beautiful ballad: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnXKoqJsm8ifn7s and here Power Metal, performed at their first appearance at a big festival in the UK, where they charmed the crowd in minutes and made their impression internationally: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKCQkJaYm8mlj6c

They are indeed quite different from the usual expectations when one hears the word "metal" but there's this interesting thing with "metal" music - despite it being very distinct it actually works super well when combined with other styles. Like symphonic style music and metal (check out Nightwish) or this Japanese pop style music and metal. End result is something quite different, often unexpected and yet so fitting. And Babymetal is a band which does good stuff - singers are amazing and the Kami Band playing with them, well dang, they're amazing. Of course, sad news also is that it's a bit late introduction into them since one of their original members has sadly left the group recently.
