I was thinking of making suitcase play sets for small handmade dolls, using shoe boxes. Thanks for the ideas on how to make them look like a case and not a box! I won't copy this, exactly, as my shoe boxes are really strong with sturdy lids, but I shall copy how you shaped them. I was thinking of doing the hinged lid similarly to how it's done here, so I'm pleased to see that it works. I was thinking of using a bead toggle, but the velcro works well, too. And it's probably easier for little hands :)

Absolutely love it!! Curving the front corners made a world of difference to the appearance. Wow! It reminds me of a picnic basket. And I can picture it covered with vintage looking Tim Holtz paper and adding suitcase style latches. I've purchased suitcase style storage boxes at Michaels, but now I can make my own, with the decorative paper of my choosing. Oh my goodness, your box is just so cool.
