Focusing on strategy alone -- or leadership alone -- misses the big opportunities. Two Wharton professors offer six steps to integrate the two.

What defines a good strategy versus a bad strategy? Once the strategy is defined to whom is it communicated? Can it be communicated to the public? Does it make sense to develop the strategy from a SWOT analysis? I would assume the answers to these questions depend on the organization's mission. Is that correct? Finally, given the competitive nature of business, can it (business) be considered a sport?

Leadership is about syndicating and continuously scanning the horizon. It is about a higher level of consciousness. Strategy is a different kind of project that lasts until there is a demand for it. It should promote a cycle of creation and "destruction" ie phasing out. Execution is about having the right structure that - connects - to different external and internal layers to enable the flow. Finally, we turn the energy on and up by promoting transparency, clarity and focus that will help grow future leaders.

Thanks for that. Could you possibly have some templates at operational node ?
