how do we control the tachycardia caused by continuous beta agonist administration?

@@kpatelv607 so you mean we’re not going to give any beta blockers? Heart rate shoots up to 150s. Im afraid patient’s going into arrhythmia

Thanks for your comment. Generally in the acute phase of managing an exacerbation just as @kpatelv has said, heart rate is not huge concern as the tachycardia can also be driven by hypoxia etc. In the longer term/ subacute phase, you can limit the amount of salbutamol and add in SAMA such as ipratropium

@@DetailsMedical thank you. i managed this one patient. 19 year old female who came in with difficulty of breathing, speaking in words, with an oxygen sat of 86%. i gave salbutamol. HR went from 110 to 130s. next dose i gave salbutamol with ipratropium and hr went up to 150-160. patient was slowly getting better with her breathing except for the tachycardia.

Go to settings on the right upper area of the screen(6 edged wheel shape), reduce playback speed by picking any suitable option x.75, x.5, x.25 etc
