I love my boomer grandparents but I do have a typically boomer story....... my paternal grandpa retired and built a house bordering rocky mountain national forest. I went skiing there every year from '12 to '20, absolutely pristine views with a mountain behind it we'd climb. I was always so excited to have a family cabin in the mountains to show my kids and grandkids. When the market for rural housing skyrocketed during covid, grandpa sold it immediately with no remorse. I have a son now and my mind can not wrap around ever doing something like that to him. Maybe someday we'll get it back and put our name plate up on the door

59:57 I've done muzzleloader shoots for competition. We would go camp out in the mountains here in North Idaho and compete. Everything had to be "period correct" in your campsite (or there was modern tent sites, but no RV's). There was black powder pistol, black powder rifle, tomahawk throwing, and knife throwing contests. Black smithing, leather and Buck skin, and animal skin hats. Guys would trade knives they made by hand and all kinds of stuff. The entire weekend was called a "rendezvous" and there would be a couple per summer. It was super fun.

I live in Butler PA and the farm show grounds where the rally took place has an air landing strip on the grounds so its a no fly zone aka no drones. also I dont know anyone other than myself that owns a drone its not a popular hobby in this area. also I drive past the farm show grounds daily for work and other than the normal trump propaganda sales that tends to be the norm the only increased prescence to clue anyone in that he may or may not be coming to our area was a semi that had trump supporting imagery on it. So with all that being said I dont know if too many where anticpating his arrival as much as it was like oh shit trumps in town? lets go check it out! I listen to the local radio and didnt hear anything about it I didnt see anything posted and only heard about it when it was live. My Aunt was there and said that it wasnt heavily advertised that the event was happening for some reason. There was only 2 youtube live streams when it was live. One of the streams looked like it was on a phone and the other was right side news so again not really out there for the public to be in the know until right afterwards. Afterwards the entire internet blew up and it was everywhere.. what was most odd is they were there (news teams) but not reporting until after the fact. all except right side news. I tend to think the whole thing was entirely a sick person acting on his own. However there are a lot of questions without answers and the ties this kid may or may not had is concerning.

As a complete nobody that should not be taken seriously, and as a Canadian with zero skin in this game (outside of my own gov'ts relentless pursuit to do everything America does but slightly gayer) I think comparing this attempt on President Donald Trump to the assassination of JFK is actually quite accurate. And when I say that I mean going by the official story of JFK's death not a conspiracy theory. I think a dude who had a grudge against the president lived nearby, saw that the president was going to be within their reach, and in their own version of heightened delirium infused with extreme politics decided to, quite literally, shoot their shot. I think it's really that simple. Both are cases where there are many unanswered questions that can be answered by SS dropping the ball, and surrounding people acting irrationally in an irrational scenario.
