Managing Alliances by Dune Imperium Top 10 Player | Dune Imperium Ultimate Strategy Guide

This is my Dune Imperium Ultimate Guide. I'm a top 10 Dune Imperium Player on Table Top Simulator. So here is my guide for new players things to watch out for when trying to obtain an alliance in Dune Imperium.
This guide assumes Dune Imperium + Rise of IX + Immortality Meta and does not cover basic rules.

Something you did not mention : a way to get an extra bump to steal an alliance is to be positioned before the player you are planning to steal the alliance from in the next round.

He kind of mentioned it briefly at 10:45, but didn't go into detail. "Based on how the turn order is, if they get mentat, then suddenly it's all up in the air." I.e. if someone is going before you in the next round, and can guarantee they go after you in the current round, then they have two turns to get bumps without you having a chance to do anything about it.

Shifting Allegiances is especially strong not only because you can get the easy triple bump with shipping, but also just sitting at lvl 3 of a track threatens the alliance while you are able to just shift away for a friendship somewhere else if the alliance gets secured. So opponent has to waste extra resources while you don't sacrifice any extra bumps. Also you can safely sit at lvl 4 with the alliance, because you can greed and only move up (to 6) if it's overtaken. A workaround for the "6 bumps = 2 VPs" is to end the game early if there are no other faction track leaders like Tessia, Leto, Baron, Yuna. If others don't have the tempo to threaten your alliances, they won't do it and will rather go for the friendship VPs.

Interesting, I always thought early alliances were a good thing because when people decide to take an alliance they go not to fight you but to some other alliance. If you wait with it, on the other hand, you always have to fight someone.

Maybe it's only make sense, then only one-two people have 2 influence and nobody have 3 in your fraction.

or even nobody have friendship

If think the 4-3 thought process is the take away. If you have the alliance at 4 influence and someone goes to 3 influence. What happens. Most of the time it is bad for both of you. And you can't really control if it happens

Grand vision is hated so much, that it is not even mentioned here as scenario to steal alliance. Truth be told, it hardly ever does 😅.

I think with grand visions, it is quite clear. It is on the table. All can see it and prepare for it. So I didn't talk about it. You cannot plan for it as well. So once again, fits more into a tactics discussion
