I thought I had some decent resistances to p.m. in some i.s.s. Took them u.p. north and the p.m. took them out. Other cultivars where not effected by the powdery mildew. I am thinking its just a different strain of p.m. in the u.p. They were grown in wild strawberry patch with some asparagus. Podosphaera macularis (formerly Sphaerotheca macularis) is here in Michigan also.

Anyone know what makes the "old towel" smell on the inside of jars and whether or not it's pathogenic? I assume it's mildew. It's NOT on the flower, but if you run your hand on the inside of a JAR and smell your hand it smells like a old wet towel full of mildew. It seems strain dependent. I grew one strain that made that smell inside a jar every single time, but most strains have never produced that smell. You can't smell it just by sticking your nose in a jar either, it's like you have to disturb the surface to release it.

I've seen people on KZbin dip there fresh-cut into a hydrogen peroxide solution and ive tried it myself. It didn't seem to affect the plant but i wonder if it helps?

I've tried it, and if you don't have good enough de-hu power it's not gonna help and will only hurt with TYM. If you can dry it fast enough, then it can help very well, and I know a facility that it works great for, but you can also easily transfer coliforms and other nasty stuf, so be sure to change your h2o2 and H20 mix often
