Last year 20 November we travelled from Punjab to manali…. We went there through 4 lane route that’s from Chandigarh to Manali 4 lane highway….there are several tunnels in this route … so you will not get that curvy roads of mountains…..only some sections of road was under construction…but I think this time road would be property constructed ….

Excellent. I travelled in summer 1994. I started around 3:00 am in Chandigarh. Reached Manali by 3pm. From 12 hours to 5, an awesome improvement.

Yes sir sure roads are safe… but hotel aisa select karna jisme steep roads na ho… main manali tak to road theek hai… but kuch hotel steep n narrow roads pe hai so vo check kar lena…

No sir.. I didn’t find any traffic May be coz I went Manali during weekdays….and some parts of the road are under construction but overall 4lane road is too good… no sir this is 4 lane main route from Chandigarh to Manali…..

Hello, I am also thinking of hiring a car from Chandigarh and visit Manali for 3 days. Please let me know are there any charges or taxes, as the car will be outside from Himachal Pradesh. Let me know of Rohtang Pass too and other taxes and charges too.

Hi Yes there is entrance tax in himanchal 50/- for all and on entering manali green tax was 200/- which we paid and on entering Atal tunnel no tax was charged
