Geoff golden rule when looking for somewhere to dine, is avoid the tourist traps. The Northern Qrt which used to be called Shudehill or Smithfield is just that. You would have gotten better value walking to little Vietnam on Oldham road 5 minutes walk from top of Tib street.

My recent exsperience of that establishment was avoid at any cost. My food took 35 minutes to arrive after I paid at the bar. My exspensive beer took 10 minutes to arrive and was warm. Meal was over cooked it was like eating a swetty sock left at gym in a locker fermenting, for months, discusting food. THE WOLF AT THE DOOR, does every thing opposite to what customers expect when paying for over priced food that's bulked out with cheap beans, cucumbers and those slices of individual plastic coated slices of cheese. I found traces of the plastic wrapping with my melted cheese beliving they never removed all the plastic wrapping. Service was allso not good. Like many other customers I walked away leaving most of every thing I had purchased. Can't belive the place has customers they have to be tourists on a first visit there for sure.

I thought you were generous giving that a 6.5/10. Then a saw your later comments and yes 3/10 was more near the mark. Did not look good...once it did finally arrive. Hate it when you wait that long your pint is almost gone. How much was that side order btw. Hardly looked more than 3 bites to it. Mouth was watering between 6.50-8.20. So much food to choose from, looked amazing, as did Picadilly Station, that's changed a bit since we last got off the train there. Keep em coming. Waiting for the next one already.

Yes i went in to film before i sat down there. I was going to film there at this and that but the place was rammed and people queuing up. No tables free. It was too busy. So i will be going back in a few weeks time. Ive spoke to the boss and he’s give it the all clear. 👍👍👍👍

Try "Northern Soul" - the place that specialises in grilled cheese sandwiches next time. They have a couple of venues in the Piccadilly area and their food is consistently top notch. And if you are after a curry in The Northern Quarter, the legendary "This and That" or "Kabana" are the places to head to in the day time for extremely well-priced food.

Great little chippie round Tib Street just across from that Gullivers Pub. I had a look down there last week and although the food looked and smelt good the cheapest on the menus was 8 quid. Street food prices it certainly isn't.

I moved from London to Manchester in 1989 and every year it gets worse. Its original character and distinctiveness have been systematically destroyed by a heathen, Philistine council and the city has taken on the appearance of a shabby, thirdworld bazaar. Pitiful (and many Manchester people agree).

Melted cheese when it cools will cause the fries to stick together. Not sure why it's a problem. If it was red hot from the kitchen it would have more stretchy stringiness to it plus you're outside so it will cool off faster. I wouldn't say it was the worst thing I've ever seen.
