I remember the days when the ship canal had ocean going vessels on it and it used to bubble with nasty pollution and no fish what so ever, nothing would survive in that evil brew. What a transformation!

I haven’t but from my understanding the slx, curado, scorpion and Aldebaran are all pretty similar with slight differences in frame material, bearing counts and spool weight. The 22 Aldebaran has a smaller and much lighter spool. It also has a better ftb braking system. 👍🏻

I dunno if you're using them but the supercontinent minnow plastics are very similar to the keitec easy shiner. They are defo my top 3 fav plastics

I think they are something similar. AliExpress specials! Really good for what I payed for them if I remember correctly! Deff worth buying off there you save so much over the store prices for pretty much the same lure! 👍🏻👊🏻

Cheers pal, really enjoyable session. The casting weight is 5-14g however the days rods are underrated in my opinion. I’ve cast 20g jerkbaits on that rod with no problems! Cheers for watching. Tight lines 👍🏻👊🏻

Some sesh that mate. Is it usual for them to be in open water like that??? Is there some structure down there??? I’m gonna give that a whirl next time. Maybe that’s the key for where I’m fishing also??

Cheers mate! The structure might not always be as obvious as a bridge or a boat. Can be drop offs underwater, different conditions on the bottom (rock, silt, weeds etc). I’d say it’s always worth finding out depths of waters and trying to find the features you can’t see. There might be a few surprises lurking 👍🏻👊🏻

I’d say the aldebaran 22 with the lighter weights. The aldebaran will cast from around 1.5g to around 12g accurately and a long way out of the box. The scorpion may do similar distances but you don’t have the weight range you have with the 22 Aldebaran. Hope this helps 👍🏻👊🏻

Cheers pal! The reel is a shimano Aldebaran mgl 51 and the rod is a majorcraft days 682bf also used the 652ml model. Awesome, light set up. No need to go to pricey to start with though. AliExpress has some fantastic bfs offerings! Thanks for watching 👍🏻👊🏻

Hello pal, the ship canal has its spots along the entire length tbh. You can find spots where it shallows up to around 10ft near the bank if not less. I’m my experience during the warmer months these areas do well 👍🏻👊🏻

There’s deff other fish in there but havnt fished for them personally. Might do a session on what else lives in there in the new year. As for carp they are there just few and far between. Think you’d have to find a spot and pre bait for a good while to have a chance at one 👍🏻👊🏻
