Scanlon in some absolutely top form rn. V interested to see where he can fit in with with the fact he can play multiple positions. LW, RW and now in the 10, where hes excelled the most I feel. Shea Lacey a little rusty on his way back, but some brilliant moments, so much talent there. Boys did well in managing the game after a few difficult moments. Finley proving how important he is anywhere on the pitch.

Love how Fletcher is in almost all of the lead up plays. One to watch, for sure. Gets out of sticky situations, with either good awareness, or well timed bursts of pace; as well as getting the ball out of his feet timed brilliantly. Love to see it. Our goalkeeper sure has a brilliant leap om him as well. Should have gotten to the ball on the penalty, but that'll come with age, one to watch for sure. I am a bit worried about Williams though, as he seems to take inspiration very much from Rashford, in that instead of being well rounded in both passing and shooting; he might get into situations where he starts running up blind alleys, just to force a shot, at higher levels. Scanlon though, wow. Different gravy. Him and Fletcher were for sure the standouts today. His passes are getting flung into the box, with deadly precision. He almost feels like Bruno Fernandes during his first two years at united. And the goals. The goals! Class acts all the same

Atlease these young united players crosses the ball. Well done need to teach the first team.

Scanlon was the standout today...along with Stoke's CF...both should make it for their respective teams later in their careers. Scanlon...the new Bruno? We seem to have quite a few young players coming through there...surely one or two of em can break through to the 1st Team?

@@junaidshahid7997 Agree...I was the same myself...I played either side or 10, bit I was 'naturally' right-footed...but could score better goals with my left. Even my teammates had to ask me which was my strong side...I think he is the same...but the weaker side needs working...and some are fortunate enough for it to respoind...I was not completely ambidextrous...but 3/4...see O'Sullivan the snooker man for 98% both...genius. I think that's why I really like Scanlon...such an asset means that you are much more unpredictable...and have a greater scope to pass and get out of trouble, or get a shot off...one-footed attackers have to be really really good to the same qualities ...think Robben...a freak!

What position does Scanlon play? Looked like he could be CM, CAM, LW, RW or ST. That is what Johan Cruyff defined as a world class player. I don't watch the youth teams as much as I used to, but may have changed that on his last 2 performances i've seen him play.

He's a cam but also can play LW, RW

There's a lovely balance and flowing style to this side with some real prospects for the future. I'd be surprised if a few of these don't make it to the first team squad over the next year or two.

Whoever teaches these young lads should be teaching the first team how to play. They play with a purpose. Come on you reds.

Very lucky win for the boys, if that Stoke chance had gone in at 4.2, to make it 4.3, could well of been a different result. I'm sure utd would have cranked up the pressure.

@@olatundexwizdomighty7859 because defending is more about tactics rather than speed a 30 year old defender will always be able to defend a 18 year old because of experience knowing where to stand, how to stand, when to run, when to block, when to go to ground - trumps speed then there's only a matter of size difference - im not the biggest 37 year old but there ain't many 18 year olds who battle me physically, let alone a professional athlete

Who on the FA keeps insisting players gat down on their knees to satisfy their own peculiar politics. I don’t want to see men made to get down on their knees to politics. This is sport not politics.
