People who support their teams can only understand the pain of defeat for the other teams to a certain level. As a Real Madrid fan, sure I am happy of what we did in the last 10 years and ofc it was tough losing like that at the Etihad. Heck I still think to this day we shouldn't have gone past the semis in 2021/22. No team should lose like City did that night, even I felt happy yet sad. Now that I've watched this video, I feel like I can grasp the actual level of emotions all Cityzens have faced over the years in Europe. After losing to Madrid and Bayern so many times, it seems it was destiny for City to win this time by defeating both of them consecutively. I never felt so connected to the team and fans before. what a special team. As a south african... I am so glad i chose Manchester City as home in 2008. everyone was a manchester united fan where i am from... i decided City because I wanted to be the other side as such is my personality.. the road seldom taken... I had a thing with west ham and liverpool prior to that as i didn't want to rush a lifelong decision, as thats just how I roll with such matters. my 1st love was Kaizer chiefs at that time but the standard of football was drastically decreasing in my country and i went all in at city after the 2010 WC held here. I never looked back . I fully knew we didn't have modern trophies but i didn't care because it never occured to me that that was the criteria of supporting a team in a foreign land so imagine my shock when i was labeled a glory hunter only after we won the league, which is something that taught me a great lesson about human nature... mainly cause none of those individuals were born into supporting those teams and lied about such. yeah im looking at you Zee... you only got dstv in 2013 bro stop the cap, but i digress... i fell inlove with you ...cause you saw me standing alooooone.... without a dream in my heart.....without a love of my own..... Blue moon. After all those years of disappointments and learning, what a way to win our first ever Champions league trophy!! We battered the two kings of this competition and am so glad to have experienced it. Whenever I watch this journey, I fail to hold my tears. Supporting Manchester City for decades without UCL trophy wasn't easy standing the mocary from the Neighboring camp. Finally we did it and still counting hopefully.
