Great Video, completely understood the basic concepts of compressible flow in a Nozzle!

Hi sir, The pressure at the end of nozzle decreased by increasing kinetic energy and this steam enters into the turbine. But my question is we require high pressure and high temperature steam at the inlet of turbine. Please clear my this doubt I can't understand this concept please tell me when u will get time

What has been shown in this video is incomplete. Point is, what is the gross pressure (static + dynamic pressure) at the exit. In reality, we have seen that whatever may be the velocity at the exit, the flow continues. That means the gross pressure at the exit is always above the atmospheric pressure level. If not, then the flow wouldn't continue. But, in this video, it hasn't proved that the gross pressure at the exit is greater than the atmospheric pressure i.e. pressure at the entry. In short, it has not been proved that the increase in dynamic pressure is more than the fall in static pressure.

P2/ P1 is back peessure ratio, it is included in theory...
@thomascameron6833 жыл бұрын
@@Dr.AmitMandal I am not talking about back pressure ratio. I am talking about increase in dynamic pressure and decrease in pressure inside the nozzle in case of subsonic flow through a convergent nozzle.
@Dr.AmitMandal3 жыл бұрын
Its theory, at exit the pressure has to be less than inlet, this will make it flow. Atmoshere is practical condition.
@thomascameron6833 жыл бұрын
@@Dr.AmitMandal You are talking about static pressure only. I am talking about total pressure i.e. static pressure + dynamic pressure. If the gross pressure (static + dynamic) isn't more than atmospheric at the exit, then the flow will stop. That's basic physics.
@Dr.AmitMandal3 жыл бұрын

sir please clear, 1.does velocity directly prop to area?? 2.does velocity inversely prop to pressure?
@Dr.AmitMandal7 жыл бұрын
+sumeet more For the case of steady flow through a duct and compressible fluid with subsonic flow the velocity and pressure both are inversly analogous but for supersonic flow , velocity is directly analogous to area while pressure is still inversly analogous to area.
@sumeetmore88077 жыл бұрын
1.sir how about incompressible fluid?eg-water 2.why we are concern about subsonic and supersonic ,does it has any impression on velocity and pressure of fluid while passing through any vent.(may be im asking wrong but its a doubt,sonic itself is used to count speed/velocity) 3.eg-water dam,while the doors are opened divergently the area increases and hence the velocity of water. (i didn't find why we used sonic factor here.) thanks :)

@@Dr.AmitMandal Thanks. I've always suspected that. It means that all of the thrust is created inside of the engine and that all the opening in the back of the engine does is to allow the expended propellants to escape so fresh propellant can enter the chamber to be burned.
