That imperial with the mustache is not just any imperial. That is the GOAT of the Empire, Captain Gilad Peleon, Thrawn's second in command. In Legends he fought for the republic in the clone wars and fought for the empire. After Endor he was one of the heads of the imperial remnants, served as Thrawn's second in command, then served the returned Emperor and then finally became the Head of State of the Imperial Remnant. He is not just proper imperial, he is THE imperial. He's also actually a pretty good guy by imperial standards. He made peace with the New Republic, he abolished slavery, and abolished human supremacist laws. But he was still a true believer in the empire and pretty much single handedly saved and reformed the empire.

RIP Paz Viszla. A true son of Mandalore. He may have fallen, but every trooper that he took out is one less for his fellow Mandalorians to face. And the fact that it had to take three praetorians to take him down after he had already cleared out an entire room of Beskar wearing enemies is a sign of his might.

Love how this episode builds up tension and questions. Rick Famuyiwa Just knows how to build an insane amount of tension. That scene with the armorer makes you think the fleet might be gone and destroyed but then they surface and the fleet is still there but the feeling doesn't go away.

That imperial you love is Captain Pellaeon, 2nd in command to Thrawn in the legend novels, and here it seems he's the representative for Thrawn as noted by the 7th fleet badge on his arm.

Gideon definitely used Dr. Pershing’s gene splicing to create clones of himself with Grogu’s midiclorian genes. And Gideon’s suit is like a beskar exo suit that enhances the users physical abilities. Those clones will be unstoppable if they’re deployed. That’s why Gideon is so confident he can usurp Thrawn. No amount of strategical genius can beat that

The Imperial that Moff Giddeon was requisitioning spare ships and the Praetorian Guards from at the start was Commandant Brendol Hux, the father of Admiral Armitage Hux from Sequels. So the links are definitely there. "Project Necromancer" is likely the cloning program attempting to resurrect Palpatine or to create Snoak.

Yes, Skyman. I wholeheartedly agree with you, in regards to your point about the Praetorians. They are presented WAY more fearsome in this episode, than they were in the Sequel Trilogy. I will say this… I don’t hate or dislike the Sequels, but I do *understand* how hardcore Star Wars fans feel towards them. Which is perfectly fine. I can enjoy those movies, and others can dislike them, I just happen to be the fortunate type of person who can understand both sides and get to enjoy everything and choose not to segregate. But that’s just me. But anyway, as to the point at hand, I agree that a balance can be made between George’s films and Kathleen Kennedy’s Sequels *if* they cherry pick the good bits (the parts that even the hardcore SW fans might have enjoyed/tolerated from the sequels) and make them work amicably with George’s/Jon’s/Dave’s Star Wars vision. They have already done it with those Babu Frick creatures; now they have done this great scene with these Praetorian Guards. *THIS* is how it is done. *THIS* is the way. More of *THIS* please, and maybe we can find balance in our own metaphorical “Force” that we call Star Wars Fandom. And maybe, just maybe, there will… be… peace.

my theory... Din is going to be brain washed by Moff. He states he wants the best. He sees Din as THE best Mandalorian. How will he be brain washed? With the mind Flayer that they set up on the 3rd episode. Next season will be rescuing Din. The episodes that people dislike that seem to be "filler" episodes always turn out to mean something down the line (so many people complained last season about a bunch of "filler" episodes while it was going from week to week but they completely forget about that due to that last Epic episode). They needed to setup the mind flayer for people who don't know about that device so they can make that mean something when he is taken to the "interrogation room". They setup that a "decomissioned" New Republic version was dangerous at high levels so imagine what they are like for Empire versions.... Feloni and Favreau know what they are doing at the end of the day we really need to look at where they go with things. Should be very exciting. And you are a billion percent correct that in 1 minute makes the Praetorian Guards something to absolutely fear. Feloni... saved the prequels and now saving the sequels (dude needs a back brace with all the lifting he does)

I loved chapter 22. It felt like a bit of an homage of Bladerunner. But, yes Lizzo's acting was not so good. But I chalk it up to her character being an eccentric alien royal. The other cameos were great. And I love seeing the stupid vespa speeders used in a proper way.

Din giving over the Dark Saber makes even more sense now from a narrative point of view. If he had it, he would have been far more difficult to capture. And if you have the beskar(?) troopers capture him it makes them look too strong and Din too weak.

My bet is that the giant fissure Moff Gideon's base was hidden in, opened up during the bombing of Mandalore and revealed new seams of Beskar that Gideon is exploiting, possibly for more of his dark trooper and other Beskar related projects. The white Mando style troopers resemble the armour of Imperial Mandalorians from Star Wars Rebels led by Gar Saxon, so he probably co-opted the design from them. I'd guess Gideon's armour is just the spray painted black, old Maul-dalorian armour of Gar Saxon which Gideon got his hands on and has now retrofitted to himself.

I think Din will get IG-11 back. But first he needs to get the memory chip. Season 4. It's just that Grogu has a spot in IG-11's heart now. So IG can transport him and at the same time grogu can take over when he needs too. We will see. It's still great that his body is at least repaired.

This assumes that the plan isn't to put Mandalorian armor on IG12. While problematic in its own way, this might still be less problematic than trying to get Mandalorian armor to look good on Grogu's tiny body. I'm not really sure which option I prefer.

Bo Katan will tame the Mythosaur which is the one part of Mandalorian culture that Gideon has not stolen and that will destory the Imperial base and free Din.

I swear I think the Armorer is the spy, I really do. How did Gideon know that Din didn't still posses the dark saber and that Bo does? Didn't the Armorer convince Bo to gather the mandalorians to take back Mandalore? Didn't the Armorer leave herself in a position in the episode to be close to the Gauntlet and get out of harms way if need be, shuttling the wounded back to the fleet? Doesn't the Armorer wear the same style Mauldelorian helmet that Gideon does? Coincidence? I dont think so.

My thoughts exactly! It’s literally called, “spies.” The only spy we saw was that girl who betrayed Pershing. There is a reason they name the episodes lol I was suspicious the entire time, thinking the shuttle heading back to the mandalorian fleet was a “Trojan horse,” then I mistreated cosca reeves and axe woves, so who could the other spy be?? Gotta be the armorer.

I think the best part about the Mandalorian is that it offers fans of the prequels, originals, and sequel trilogies something. Filoni bridges all these different tones and themes and finds a way to bring them all "home". It's OK if people don't like the same things. It's better for us all that they keep offering something for everyone. If every episode had the same tone or thematic intention the seasons would be bland.

Tbf Paz fought a whole platoon of Beskar TK troopers. So yeah! It was a given that the Praetorian gaurds would beat him. I think he would be able to at least take 1 or 2 of them out if he was fresh.
