In before comments telling me the name of planet. Seriously a few days after I finished editing this video and uploaded it the episode naming Nevarro went up. I knew this would happen! A huge thank you to the amazing sculptors that created the STL files I used for this build. Please check out their work. I don't know if you watch critical role, but you have talking about ypur hand tremors in the past, and their new show with will freidle actually talked about techniques to help those with tremors paint. they were techniques I had never heard before and thought if you hadn't seen it you might find them helpful. Will is a little over the top, but make it to when he starts to paint. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4CWgqduja50rdU THANK YOU for your inspiring videos!

alaskankare thanks, I’ll check it out! A lot of the things people recommend for me don’t help much, but I’m always trying new things because some do.
@BlackMagicCraftOfficial
@BlackMagicCraftOfficial 4 жыл бұрын
alaskankare Ok had to come back and comment. My expectations for the tips were low. Often they aren’t very good (put elbows on desk and keep hands together which only helps normal shakes not essential tremors that are severe). But these tips are solid. The chest method is what I use and find best. It’s funny because just today I finished next weeks video and I discussed that method in it. It’s the reason I rarely film painting minis, the position is very hard to do with a camera close up. But that rubber band thing? Never heard of it and I’ll definitely be trying it.

I think part of the reason I liked the Mandalorian series so much is because it was heavily weighted with practical effects. Sure there was CGI, but there were a lot more real props than many movies and other SW movies recently. Give me a bad puppet over good CGI any day of the week.

Despite being piloried for over reliance on CGI, the prequel trilogy was EXTREMELY dependant on models for sets. Not CGI.

Love this! But I don’t think any part of this build was “pointless” because it brought you a ton of joy AND it showcased some amazing techniques! So even if you keep doing dioramas, the principals and techniques are universal to terrain building as well. I love this build, and you were just incredibly happy the entire video, so I think that’s the real win.

Check this out: I found a neat plastic disc inside a Starbucks Holiday Blend Keurig coffee cup. After making a cup of coffee, I took the used Keurig cup, removed the foil cap, discarded the old coffee grinds, and removed the wet coffee filter. Then under all that muck, you'll find a NICE a hold plastic disc with small holes. These would work great for forming objects in a models like this. Pretty neat!

Some fine shades of beige there. One thing that gives it away as a model is a lack of shadow for the Mandelorian himself. Did you consider giving him a shadow? It could be vague, and underneath him, or you'd have to pick a direction for the sun to shine. Shadows, alas, do not scale well.
@BlackMagicCraftOfficial

Is there such a thing as a bad shade of beige? I actually did airbrush some shade under him as shadow but was nervous to overdo it so maybe it’s too subtle.

I would say that it is not pointless or useless, because it creates crafty inspiration and allows you to refocus your zen. I also is a good way to create a bunch of demos, sort of like a portfolio or those old school traveling salesmen. With their miniatures of furniture, john feet tractors, and demo sized replicas of all sorts. Besides it never hurts to do art for arts sake, occasionally. Good on you glad to see you smile, do more, just try to show us something new and "dangerously " outside of your comfort. I wish you all the best.
