There are many other luxurious hotels such as Four Seasons, St Regis, Ritz Carlton and also many others 5 star hotels like Shangri La, Hilton, Meridien, Hyatt, Marriott, Regent, Banyan Tree and many more other 5 star hotels in KL. Always book in advance to get the best deal. 😀

From your MOKL Hotel room facing the KLCC park, you can see the KLCC Convention and Exhibition Centre. That location was formerly the KLCC Project site office, you can imagine how big the site office for such a magnitude project in the middle of the city. I remember back then, every now and then, KLCC was critized more often than not, dirtying the roads with soil from lorries outgoing from the project site. Now, after the foundation work commenced in 1993, 30 years later, an iconic landmark in KL becomes reality. Most of what you see today in KLCC was developed during the first phase of the project from 1993 to 1997. Only few other buildings came much later, more than a decade after that, like Petronas Tower 3, KLCC CEC, Traders Hotel, and almost 3 decades after that, another new project around the KLCC Mosque, that project has taken quite a chunk of the original area from the KLCC park. I can go on with more of my stories, my experience from KLCC, but for now, I think you need a break, hehe.

Your lovely experience, the room, the bed, the amenities, the breakfast buffet, reminded me a lot of my past experiences in 5 star hotels in Malaysia, and also in India. I was involved with lots of handling conferences in KL, stayed at least few days each time. Your jacuzzi dip reminded me of my time after hectic working days in the old Hilton Hotel on Jalan Sultan Ismail. I had more experience in India staying at least two weeks each time, 3 times from my 3 years in India, at luxurious hotels in Bengaluru, Chennai and Mumbai, handling an incoming Malaysian official and business delegate for a trade and investment mission. I also stayed at some of the most beautiful luxurious hotels in India on my own. My favorite stay, by far, was at the Oberoi Wildflower Hall in Mashorba, near Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh during winter, the whole compound was covered with snow. The tennis court had been transformed into an ice skating rink. It was a very low season, so were treated like VVIP. I really enjoyed the swim in the indoor heated swimming pool with gorgeous chandeliers hanging above, but the most mesmerizing was my dip in the hot jacuzzi tub, fronting the amazing Himalayan range.

Love KL, the cost vs quality of life is amazing there. But what about Visa options. The new MM2H rules shared this week are not so favorable. The Silver MM2H Visa requirements are: $150K USD fixed deposit and have to purchase a property worth 600K MYR which cannot be sold for 10 years. 5 year renewable Visa. The cost is pretty silly, MYR fixed deposit will lose value within 5 years almost certainly looking at the history of MYR vs USD, and having to buy property defeats the purpose of cheap rentals. What Visa are you using or do you recommend?
@keangwooichoo61386 ай бұрын
Then apply for digital nomad visa or study the borneo mm2h
@JackAlderton6 ай бұрын
Hey mate, it's a good question and I'm having some thoughts about this in my own situation. I am working here on an Employment Pass, so that's what I'm using. I'm looking for options if I want to stop working and completely agree with your assessment. The new MM2H is out of reach for me right now and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it under the new conditions. The digital nomad visa looks alright if you have the setup to support it (though I heard to processing time is long) and the borneo option could be good if you fit the age bracket and conditions. Otherwise I would recommend tourist visas if it's favourable for your country. Not advice but you can base yourself in Malaysia and cycle SEA countries throughout the year.

It's high 20's, low 30's all year round. It rains usually only in the afternoon for a few hours max. It's pretty consistent year-round and not really defined seasons - true tropical climate. IMO it's one of my favourite things about Malaysia.
