Thank you so much, Rox! ❤ Yess, I didn't even think they would already send it over. It would be with the next month's paycheck but since some of the days off were in September, I guess that worked out.

Hi Madeline, love the fox bag tehee! that is such a cool benefit to get that reimbursement +2 weeks paid leave. Great saving as always and I’m always impressed with how much you’re putting towards your apartment.

I love it more!!! ❤ Yeah, so if you don't provide the receipts, you just get paid the regular salary base for the PTO days. I think it's an amazing incentive on their end and rewarding the employees.

I think it is brilliant that your company reimburses for 2 weeks of travel. That is smart as rested workers produce more, get sick less and funtion better:) Amazing savings! I think it is great to stuff the money you are no longer paying on rent!!

Thank you for watching, Jill! ❤ Yes, definitely.. rewarding the employees for scheduling their 2 weeks of PTO and make sure they disconnect from all that's work-related and also, get rid of some of the PTO days allocated yearly, which are 25.. and accruing them over the years is not beneficial for either part. My delivery lead is taking every Friday off because she has so many left.

Happy Wednesday! I definitely wish we had a mandatory vacation we always have to use PTO(paid time off) but if we don’t have that, and we can’t be off or we get unpaid
@MadelineBudgets21 күн бұрын
I know, by law, we need to take the PTO days within 2 years. We have 25 days per year, but you can't keep rolling them into next years' and end up with hundreds. The only time the PTO days are paid entirely without you taking them is when you leave the current job and no one wants to pay X months of PTO for the employers.

Thank you, Nita! ❤ I agree.. they're very generous and care for the employees' wellbeing to take some mandatory time off and just disconnect. And also not accrue like 100 PTO days over the years.

What a wonderful thing Romania does for it's workers. So glad you were able to take a vacation!
@MadelineBudgets21 күн бұрын
I agree, Lindsay! ❤ The vacation incentive from the companies is more so for people to not accrue a ton of vacation days and to keep snowballing them from one year to the next. And since there's a separate budget for that, they reimburse the travel expenses, if there's no receipt to show, you just get paid your paycheck amount for those days as usual.
@haileyreign21 күн бұрын
Hey Madeline! Your company is smart to do that! I'm assuming it's to keep a cap on people piling up PTO? Our department has scheduled PTO every couple Fridays throughout the year as well as a cap on PTO hours before you have to use them unless there's an emergency, planned leave, or medical reason outside of maternal leave (like a scheduled surgery or sabbatical or something).
@MadelineBudgets21 күн бұрын
Hello, Hailey! ❤ Yes, that's right as well.. we have 25 days of PTO and some people kept accruing PTO days from previous years. But the Romanian law says you need to use those up in at least 2 years since employment. The delivery lead on my project is taking all her Fridays off this year since she had so many days.. It's really similar to what your department is doing and it's really smart. Because the salary budget is different than the PTO one and that one needs to be spent on the employees as well.

Hi Mads❤great work and such a cool thing with the company for which you work. I your videos. In which field do you work, if i am allowed to ask? (if it's too personal please ignore my question). How do you you budget the money for food since it s become very expensive in Romania? Do you have any tips and tricks for saving money? (for a beginner). Thank you❤
@MadelineBudgets21 күн бұрын
Hi Alina! ❤ I mentioned it in videos and it's in my description as well, I work in IT as a QA Engineer. Just for myself, I had a weekly 400 RON allowance, 200 for food, 100 for my 3 cats, 50 for coffee and 50 for spending. The coffee money is usually untouched and if I eat out, I take it out from spending. Or if I need to buy something from Pepco/Emag etc. Now that I live with my boyfriend, we need to cook more often so it might get more difficult. The way I started was writing every expense down for a couple of months to see in which areas I was spending too much (i.e clothes in my case). I have an Excel/Google Spreadsheet where I list my income, all the bills that get paid from the card, then I subtract the monthly living expenses and what's left can go into savings challenges.
