What a great performance! Julien really does a great job at playing a slow tempo, allowing for the tempo to naturally pull and push, but still making the rhythmic patterns recognizable and clear as he keeps a certain momentum throughout. Also, the depth of sound from that mandolin is truly surprising for such a narrow body, so hats off to Brian N. Dean too!

Magnificent! One of the great contemporary classical bowl back players performing what some consider *the* great virtuoso piece written for the instrument. He brings less fire to the piece here than some players, but highlights the beauty. Thank you!

Fantastic. Great recording as well. I really feel like classical mandolin is really underrepresented on KZbin. Maybe it's just in recording in general. But it's really inspiring to see it blossoming as of late. Thank you for this

What wonderful tone he gets out of this mandolin. I think I should have bought a bowl back... Can't have everything when you are only just learning though i guess. Any information about what strings he is using?

Hi, I believe they are Savarez strings, quite low tension www.savarez.com/mandolinemandoline-premiummandolin-set-premium-normal-tension-110r
