My deaf wife is a pastry chef in Las Vegas. And she was crying through almost every video she's watched of this wonderful woman. Both had to fight SO hard to keep going and chasing their dreams. There is so much adversity facing people with any disability just from people that will say, "You can't do that." Glad to see them come to fruition for Mandy as well as my wife!

Her speech at the beginning brought tears for me, and I am sure it will for anyone who has experienced a life changing event. Almost three years ago I developed severe Fibromyalgia, the doctors told me I had all of the tender points, and it would take everything I had to stand up or walk from one room to the next. I stopped playing the guitar due to the pain and fatigue in my hands and back. The following year, after my partner of 7 years left me, I snapped and realised that I was no longer living and was just existing. If it wan't for that moment I could still be the same person now, but I have learnt to grin and bear through the pain and forced myself through fitness and strength training, all the while telling myself "I will get there, I will live my life and I will not be controlled by my difficulties." Now I can play the guitar again, I have so much more confidence in all areas of my life, my walking stick went in the bin months ago, and most importantly I can use stairs. I could only travel up one step, but now I can go up whole flights, yes I get out of breath but I can do it. Anyone living with debilitating difficulties that feel they have given up or want to give up, just think of what you truly desire from life, work for it and it will happen.
