First, I need to know why this song isn't a single with an official music video. Why has this song not been sent to radio? Seriously! The entire album Paper Cuts is stellar but after the first listen through "Something I Can Feel" stood head and shoulders above the rest. The lyrics are so powerful and so many people can relate to and understand them. They're so gripping and on point with the current times and state of the world. The homonym of wait and weight used here perfectly illustrates the difficulty of life's hard times and the struggles we must somehow deal with. Waiting for things to get better when they are so bad and you feel so lost. The weight of those problems threatening to bury you so deep you cannot possibly recover. The spiral down is so miserable but if you can just find something to ground yourself to you can truly discover who and where you are, identify a possible path to recovery and give yourself a real chance to survive and heal. It'll take time and things will never be the way they were but you'll come out a stronger and better person in the end. The pacing of the vocal melody helps to tell such a vivid and powerful story full of both pain and hope. I completely love the progressive nature of the instrumentation as well. The guitar is so subtle yet is such a force driving the positivity of the song and keeps you waiting for more and looking around the corner to see what's next. The powerful and driving nature of the four on the floor kick drum acts as a heartbeat portraying the intensity of the situation being described. The various vocalizing elements present throughout the song almost feel like that part of your soul always present behind the scenes in life begging to be set free so you can be who you are meant to be. But the piano... The piano here is so beautiful with its various melodies dragging you deep into the songs valleys and high up its peaks while constantly carrying the song. The piano melody between "I've fallen farther" and "I've held my breath" at 0:52 is absolutely majestic. This melody get used a couple of times during the song and each time it's like angel materializing out of thin air to carry you through to better days. Kudos to every person involved in the writing, playing and recording of the piano track. The entirety of the piano work in this song is without a doubt the sexiest and most passionate piano I've ever heard. Also, the combination of the piano and guitar on the up-beat is simply perfect! Mandy, thank you for writing this song. I never thought I'd hear a song more heartfelt than The Living Years by Mike + The Mechanics. It took a little over 33 years but I finally have and it was well worth the wait. Thank you so much for writing and recording this song! Joann Benfield is someone brand new to me I've never seen before. I'm blown away at the emotions she portrays using her movements, body language, facial expressions, mouth and eyes. Her hand, arm and shoulders at 1:25 and 2:41. Her mouth, hands and eyes from 2:03-2:09. And the anguish on her face at 2:11. At 2:57 the way her face portrays the reassurance one feels when they solve the riddle of being lost and are both confident and accepting of who they are when they discover and solidify their place in the world. Along with the head nod. Stunning! She deserves an award of some kind for her performance here.

Beautiful original. I’ve put together a KZbin AGT Champions & Stars Top 20 and this went to my No1 at first hearing. Well done Mandy for writing an amazingly beautiful song.

Mandy, If you ever read this... try a slow and haunting tone with the background music and your voice. I think your voice has an ethereal quality that would bring so much feeling to this song.

One, love this. Two, and I'm really just curious, but in the music video Mandy sometimes uses different hand signs and I was just wondering why that is? Does anyone know?

Mandy does modified sign in her videos. In this one this lovely woman is using ASL fully. Not sure if I'm explaining it well.
