Mandy Patinkin on the final episode of "Homeland"

Actor Mandy Patinkin joins "CBS This Morning" to talk about the final episode of Showtime's "Homeland," one of television's most popular dramas. The series is ending its nearly decadelong run on Sunday. Patinkin has starred alongside Claire Danes as Saul Berenson, a CIA agent turned national security officer, since the show's first season.

I’ve been a huge fan of Homeland since episode one and have enjoyed seeing the characters develop over the years. At times it’s been almost like watching a documentary type drama, the storylines mirroring current events that have made me step back & question how much of it was based on actual events. Big thumbs up to everyone involved in the series and for creating one of (if not the best) dramas of its kind. The last few minutes of the final episode were worth the wait. All good things come to an end I guess, I was hoping Homeland wasn’t to be one of those. 👏👍👍👍👏👏 from the U.K. 🇬🇧.

Excellent and unforgettable. If to compare, but if the writers of Game of Thrones had imagined an end like the one of Homeland, GOT would be a perfect series. I think the end of Homeland is the deepest analytical ending I've ever seen in a series, that final chapter is a monument to friendship and loyalty. It really is unique.

To me the ending was off. I don't find it believable at all that a woman with her profile would not be under the loop by Russian intelligence at all times and is able to collect intelligence. If they would be able to understand that a person such as the translator is in their midst then it would only take seconds to start looking at Carrie when there is suspicion.

A good final episode letdown in my opinion somewhat by an ending that doesn't necessarily hold up to scrutiny. If Russian intelligence discovered there was a mole in their organisation it would take them all of 5 seconds to realise who that mole was. Why would the Russians even want Carrie in the first place? She's bipolar, and with that comes unpredictability, as proven through the years. She's simply not a safe bet at all. I get what the show was doing, continuing Carries adventure by making her the new source, but Carrie is too well known by the Russians to be trusted. It doesn't take a genius to realise that, and as such the ending felt a little silly for me.

the 7th season Final Episode, I could NOT hold myself to my seat. on the Season 8th Final, everything went to the Russian's favor. Max was killed. Anna was exposed and commited suicide. in the Halls of United Nations in New York City, 4 armed Russians escorting a Russian Delegation while the Americans have only ONE armed man to sneak Anna out of the Building. I would have been more happy to see Yevgeny and the Pakistani ISI woman to be neutralized. instaed, The Russians won and got everything they wanted. The American Lost. AND , a Traitor Like Carrie Matheson would never ever get to know and provide the backdoor key to S-400 missiles. IT WAS A DISTROUS END.
