@@tarun12aug you want live permanent or temporary, if you wanted to live on rent then no problem but if your planning to buy land then it's not possible. Only the locals can buy land. But apart from the Shillong is a beautiful place, I'm currently living there.

Very nice vlog....your vlogs are always very informative and interesting. A vomiting tendency also happened to me when I travelled to silchar from Guwahati via Shillong. The RK mission was so beautiful. Very beautiful scenery especially the waterfall and the story behind the noha Lia Kai ...was very shocking and saddening as well. Superb vlogs Mandy ji. You can go anytime before the end of this month or the first week of July. Meghalaya is best visited during the monsoon season to see the waterfalls. Otherwise, there's no point in going. Cherrapunji and Mawsynram get the most rainfall on the planet.

Yeah, go after the flood. Just check the 10-day weather report before you go and try to talk to the local cab drivers from Guwahati to get the real story since they go back and forth to Meghalaya all the time.

It's NOHKALIKAI. Likai is the name of the woman, Noh means throw. So Nohkalikai means Likai thrown herself in that falls.

Natives of Meghalaya like other NE states r very nice, well mannered & welcoming towards tourists unlike some other parts of India...I say that as a non-tribal outsider who've visited d spectacular state multiple times before. By any chance r u one of those patronizing/obnoxious tourists expecting special privileges who're disrespectful towards locals of different ethnicity/cultures specially tribals or maybe expecting/demanding them 2 speak Hindi or English & frustrated at 'em 4 not arranging typical north Indian pure veg food, specially 4 u!?

I have been to shillong last month, its true that we have heard a lot about shillong but its not that good from my aspect. Shillong must be green and covered with mountains all around but that doesnt make it the best. Shillong is just like a normal hill station. There is nothing to be excited about shillong. There are hardly any attractive place except the city seeing point. The hotels too are not that worth they are way too expensive and the food too is very bad in taste and unhygienic. But a place near shillong named Cheerapunji is very satisfying. Shillong doesnt have good travel accommodation airport is very far. The security for tourists at shillong is not doubtable. Shillomg city has got only 7 tourist place which will take hardly 4-5 hours to visit all because they are not very great and attractive tourist place. I will recommend to visit only Lady Hydari Park and a Cathedral Church in Shillong. Hotels in Shillong are costly and the hotels are also not worth of your money. The service of most of the hotels are also not good. The crime rate of Shillong is very less but there is no loss in taking precautions becuase you can not trust every people. There is nothing extraordinary to visits. Just a small town with mountains. Fooding and lodging is very costly. I only recomend this place to those who have never seen any hill station cost of living is very high in shillong.and we cannot find anything that cost below Rs 5 to stay for 1 night the hotels charge minimally around 1000 bucks n even more than that the food in the hotels are just okay and cost very high.the cab drivers charge very high for new passengers and u might also be fooled if u r not previously aware of the actual charge.😊
