In the wake of the numerous police-involved shootings of unarmed Black men and the recent assassinations of officers as retaliation (Dallas and Baton Rouge), this movie is more timely than ever. Society really hasn't learned a thing in the past 5 decades.

The last time I watch this was in 1975 when I was 15. At the time I never thought about being a cop. Eight years later I found myself in a blue uniform after my service in the USMC. I'm now retired after 33 years. This movie was and still is good. This movie is still so timely. God bless Foster and Laurie.

I attended the Foster-Laurie Elementary School (P.S. 397) on Fenimore Street in Brooklyn from kindergarten to fifth grade, from 1976-1982. Because we were so young, the administration never shared the gruesome details of the murders with the student body. All we were told was that the school was named after two policemen - one black and one white - who were killed in the line of duty. I just read the entire story online two days ago and watched this movie today. I can still sing the school song dedicated to them. I am heartbroken, as if it just happened.

I remember watching this that same year, I was either 9 or 10 it all depends what month it was. I didn't want to watch this movie but it was on a school night so it was either this or bed and my mom had the control and I was the control. I just got to say my mom, me and older brother were crying like babies and I haven't seen this movie since 45 years later I still remember it. I have to send this to my older brother, I'm sure he's going to remember that night and think about the simple pleasures of having only 4 channels and the company of a loving mother. Wow good times.

This was a sad movie just what these cops were gunned down so vicious I heard alot about these cops they were good in the community and to the people my heart goes out to the widows of these police officers I can imagine how horrific that night was when they were ambushed and killed in the streets of New York it doesn't matter what race you are you can make a difference in your life if you put your mind into it like good cops like Foster and Laurie all they was doing was trying to do is make a difference until it take some cowards to cut these cops life short.

Adelaide never remarried, and still lives in the house her and Rocco shared. Such a painful loss. She still recalls that night the officers came to tell her the tragic news. She still loves him very deeply, and Always will. She is also the kindest woman I know. This should have never happened. I hope the killers are tormented every day for the pain they unnecessarily caused these precious familes.

Yes! It’s a True Story, Almost. I never seem or heard any of this Black, White thing between the Cops in the 9th Pct. I worked with Foster and Laurie. My partner and l spoke with them that afternoon, telling them they should careful that night because my partner and l who worked the same post as Foster and Laurie were working that night. We told them, that we just had a big problem right at the end of our day tour with a large crowd of people, who were threatening that they would get us.

I was in the 9 Pct. And worked the same post as Forster and Laurie and on the day this happened I worked the day tour and me and my partner had trouble just before we were getting off duty the bad guys were yelling that they we’re going to get us. On the way to the station house my partner and I ran into Forster and Laurie and I asked them where they were working and said they were working Avenue B, then I said to then to be careful tonight because we just had a lot of trouble so watch your back. And my partner called about 11 PM to tell me that they got killed by the BLACK LIBERATION ARMY who ambushed them. Laurie looked like me and my partner Jimmy. Forster and Laurie were good Cops. All the cops in the 9 Pct. Care about the people that lived in the 9 Pct.😂. There were 6 Police Officers Killed in the 9th Pct while I worked there. The first Cop ever killed in NYC was killed in the 9 Pct. On Avenue B and 11 Street same location as Forster and Laurie . Crazy Right !

People have to understand the context for which these officers were killed. Police brutality was rampant In NYC and outgrew the analysis of the black community was at war with the police in 60s & 70s, much like today. Therefore, this was an act of community justice on many parts by the BLA. Long live the Black Liberation Army, the people with the only courage to deal with the realities Black people were experiencing in this period. Notice this film only depicts one side of the occurrence, full on race-relations propaganda without any analysis from the side of poor black folks brutalized by NYPD.
