Manfrotto makes excellent, sturdy tripods. I was lucky enough to pick one up at a thrift store for $10 years ago (I talked them down from $20) - they obviously didn't know what they had.

Fantastic tripod, I use that with the manfrotto 502 HD. Just upgraded to a 4k camera, cant wait to make new videos!

If you a have regular 3 way head, you can. put the one leg all the way up to a horizontal position. Put it over your shoulder, Flip the 3 way head back so you can see the back of the camera. Then hang on to the legs in the front. You can have an improvised shoulder shoulder rig. Tried it with my old 3001 . Saves you money on a shoulder rig.. i also put a piece of pipe foam over the leg to have padding. I used the 1 inch diameter. You can get the foam padding so it reseals itself while you wrap it around the leg.. It's cheap at a hardware store .Nice review by the way..

As far as heads...nothing but the threading matters. and you can get a adapter for most. Its nice that the legs just slide out. just hold as you slide so you dont drop it! That is not the tripods issue. Stop bending it, and it wont be sticky. Mine are smooth. I wish the clicks to articulate the legs were easier to adjust. That press down button is not always easy to work. They could have included or have option to have spike retracting feet. Soooo happy to not get a twist style leg release.

I think you can invert the centre post to get the camera closer to the ground to help with low down or macro shots.

I also have the MVH502AH, do you recommend the 190 for the 502? Let me be more specific, it may be overkill but I am just using a gopro hero 7 blk. But my existing tripod is a 1/4” attachment, and using a converter, it just doesn’t sit well, and when I go to pan, It unscrews sometimes because it’s not firmly screwed into the base, so it either unscrews from the converter or from the base. Annoying.

Hi, I also purchased the mt190cxpro3. I found that the last section of the leg doesnt drop them automatically, and it is very sticky, and sometimtes it cant extend fully unless I pull it for several times. Does that also happens to you?
