Honestly, We don't have true romance stories, the only story available are going to the bar and then sex, or drunken house party and then sex. Western styled stories don't allow the cute and innocent appeal of romance, instead everything must be jaded, dark, imperfect, and dirty. Cute is forbidden as it is a sign of innocence, and innocence is made fun of and punished to the point of extinction. The emotional connection is discarded as everyone's had more partners than they can remember, killing the intimacy of that natural emotional connection and making only a physical one. This leads to misery later in life when they are no longer able to pair bond and misery loves company. So yes, I want to strive for the ideal. I like feminine biologically natural girls who haven't been passed around the school and college campus. I didn't want to cheat on my future spouse so I stayed out of the misery game. I didn't want to lose my ability to pair bond. And should I never find any girl, then so be it.

This is probably the only type of misunderstandings I like in a manga dub. The misunderstanding the MC has when he thinks a girl hates him when she actually likes him. Its very relateable.
