I liked how Hideo didn’t go bragging about his heroic act, but rather decided to keep low key and be more modest. Tomoeda was spot on in his explanation why Hideo didn’t want this public. However, Hideo earned this respect and should be proud of it. His classmates certainly acknowledge him, and Megumi is going to be devoted to him.

Not many people I know (especially with other more popular people around and not in a close knit group) would go out of their way to talk to an unassuming person. Imagine a super shy introvert who thinks poorly of themselves. Most people would avoid them because of a preconceived notion. It's human nature. When they found out what he was really like is when their opinions changed. He also avoided the female MC because of what she might think and I also think he didn't want to ruin her reputation. I can sympathize, I'd act the same way, except for shutting myself off when praised for heroics. I hate being the center of attention and want to keep low-key.

I think what they're saying is he thought if they knew he was the one who saved her, they would look down on him, instead of acknowledging that he saved the "queen bee". He didn't even want to tell her for the same reason. They only found out third hand. And it wasn't like he was going to brag about it, just a simple answer yes or no and that he didn't want anything in return when she asked. Important medical point: always check for a pulse before performing CPR. If they have a pulse but are not breathing, then you should perform rescue breaths. If there is no pulse, perform CPR. Second point: with drowning victims, try to vacate their lungs before performing rescue breaths. Water is heavier than air and incompressible, and thus no matter how hard you blow, if the lungs are full of water you can't force air into them. If there is no worry of head/neck trauma, turn them on their side and compress their abdomen right below their ribcage. This will evacuate some of the water out of their lungs and let you give them rescue breaths.

I saved a guy from drowning in a frozen river a year or so ago. He had fallen in while hiking, but he was by himself and elderly, so he didn’t have the strength to get himself back out. Somehow, at a shop two miles from where he was, I was outside and heard his cry for help. Me and a couple of my buddies called the authorities and walked though 2 feet of snow to get to where the man was, at the name time the search and rescue people did. My buddy always told me “Don’t make a fuss, we didn’t do anything”, and while I may not be one to ask for things in return for my good deeds, thanks and praise every once in a while is nice. My 5 buddies were… disgusted isn’t the word I’d use, I’d say annoyed, by the amount of attention we got for this. But that man would’ve died out there without us. And in all honesty, when do you really hear about 4 college students doing something not for their own benefit and saving someone’s life? Plus, it was good PR for the school.

This was so sweet! Hideo saved Megumi's life and inturn she saved his, and not just when he collapsed. Hideo was a hero for not wanting to take credit, even when he didn't want to be seen as a creep. And Megumi was so kind to him after he collapsed and kept her promise to marry her hero after finding out it was Hideo. Both of them are really incredible characters and really deserve each other. This truly was such an amazing and wholesome story.

I really understand Hideo wanting to keep it a secret and not attract attention from people especially Kanzaki. Kanzaki is the most popular girl in the school and you know how popular girls in anime are, most of the time they ruin the MC’s peaceful life and if Kanzaki saw the vid she would have probably sued him for sexual assault which could have been bad for Hideo. Hideo wasn’t expecting anything in return. He just did what he had to do. He was expecting his classmates to be creeped out of him but luckily they applauded him for his heroic act and in the end he got himself a beautiful gf. The story reminds me of a similar vid on another channel where the MC saved his crush and his friends were a bunch of idiots. They didn’t know how to perform CPR and the MC had no choice but to do it but instead of them being grateful to the MC they rather treated him as the bad guy. He did the right thing and was treated as the bad guy and if he didn’t save her he would still be treated as the bad guy. What a society we live in. This is why a lot of guys are reluctant to help women.

that was pretty good. the thumbnail art caught my eye. as much as i've see my fair share of mcs saving the fmcs from impending doom. this felt nice as he gets a scar on his forhead like some mcs having scars on mostly their backs or arms at least. no bs, no awkwardness and most of all, EVERYONE loved this guy in the end and gets his dream wife as a result. understandable how he felt that if anyone were to find out that he did something to kanzaki while trying to save her, he would be vilified as a creep in everyone's eyes. the acting from the two was superb! also, this art style and character design felts so magical in my eyes. the music added hear adds the effects to things. the lady talking for the girl sounds like estelle son.
