I mean...not trying to start a weeb war here, but isn't that ocean kinda small? It's all about X reincarnating in Y, with a monotone mysterious AI giving you skills like it's a MMO (I blame SAO), that makes the MC start either overpowered (I blame Overlord) or goes through the leveling phase. Isekai used to be about worlds in other dimensions/times, with purpose in the summoning, now it's all about video games, even when video games aren't into play : S. Of course there are exceptions to that (which are the only ones I follow).

Also, what's wrong with harem every now and then especially if it is done well? I can get not liking poorly done harem and a good portion of recent stuff is like that. You have to at least understand that if you don't like it, it's not always 100% bad writing, it could just be that you aren't the intended/target audience.

Villainess manga are very versatile. First you have a villainess that a galge player that reincarnates as the villainess of a game they played, or a villainess that dies and is sent back in time to do over her life, then you have the times they are sent to their childhood and the times when they are sent to right before they are socially destroyed because of their evil deeds. You have the girls who no longer have a good standing in society and it’s really amazing seeing them use their intelligence or modern knowledge to forge a life for themselves despite the poor situation. You also have the ones where they resolve to not make the mistakes they made before and avoiding the death flags and it’s so cute to see the ones that try their best to turn over a new leaf or the regular people who are just being themselves and they win over the friendship of the other characters. You have the reverse harems and the lover romances. It’s amazing how they can be serious or comedic, or how they can follow the setting’s story or how they can deviate so much from it that everything is different. It’s really cute when the villainess is surprised they become friends with the heroine and the real interesting ones are where the heroine is also a reincarnation or knows they are the heroine and in doing so they become the villainess because they try to force the role on the villainess. I really want more people to read them. I can recommend so many I don’t know what to do. Don’t. You. Think. Everyone. Should. Read. Villainess. Manga!?

@@svince51 a really really good one that got me into the whole villainess genera was Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami which is an economics/politics focused one where the villainess manages her family’s domain after being kicked out of the nobles academy. *deep breath* The Banished Villainess Living the Leisurely Life of a Nun Making Revolutionary Church Food is an interesting one too. The holy Grail of Eris is a bit unique as the villainess possesses an upstanding noble daughter and they work together to figure out the truth behind her execution. Wakeari Akuyaku Reijou Yaku Hakigo no Jinsei o Jiyuu ni Ikiru is interesting as it has a medical focus. Villainess Level 99 I May Be the Hidden Boss but I’m Not the Demon Lord. Villainess is op but doesn’t wannna be too involved in things and it’s typical op stuff but cute and a little bit of the social drama. The Villainess Will Crush Her Destruction End Through Modern Firepower. What the title says. There are tons more but most translations will have a credits page that include others they are working on if you want more. The first one I mentioned probably has the most chapters of any villainess manga (excluding a number of Manhwa they seriously pump those out like crazy) if you want manhwas I can recommend a few of those too
