20th Century Boys, Pluto, Blame!, Akira and Otherside Picnic are all good choices for sci-fi manga. Otherside Picnic is also a Yuri series, but the romance is more of a slow burn and the main focus is on the sci-fi/mystery aspects of the story. Claymore and The Witch And The Beast are good alternatives to Berserk in the dark fantasy genre. Claymore has a medieval type setting, whereas The Witch And The Beast has a more modern, 20th century gothic style to it.

@@stevengn7647 they all sound like great recommendations. I got the 20th Century Boys first volume but I have not had the chance to read it yet. Jess is going to be so happy to see all these recommendations!

If you're a big fairy tail fan you could always go for his other work edens zero(it just ended too). Also haikyu for a better story with character growth and some very wholesome moments. Blue lock is just a hype machine. Both great in their own ways.

We actually got the first volume of Edens Zero. And we will probably read Haikyu at some point too. We just couldn’t decide on which one to get first

3:28 next to Dr. Stone, there's Dragon Goes House-hunting volumes🤩. It's a very unique comedy series, parody of the House-hunting show, but it takes places in a fantasy world. Fortunately besides it's underrated, have a very good first season and all of the manga released in english.

if you like sci-fi and Yuri, I'm absolutely in love with "Otherside Picnic" - it's two cute ladies investigating the paranormal X-Files style, and their slow-burn romance; I have the manga, but it comes also in Light Novel and anime form

@@MadailinBurnhope you are the second friend that recommends Otherside Picnic. I have a feeling Jess would enjoy it. We have to check it out. Maybe we will grab it at the bookstore next time if we see it. How many volumes are there total?

I would recommend reading blue lock before haikyu, only because blue lock draws me in more with the competitiveness since everyone is for themself. Haikyu is also great but feels too lengthy for me to read
