I completely agree with you about Boichi’s art. It’s highly detailed but I find his characters actually look ugly a lot of the time, especially in his shonen series. I actually refuse to read any of his series because of it. I’m glad you enjoyed Bloom Into You & Ooku! Ooku is definitely one of the most impressive manga I’ve ever read in terms of history and politics, without losing focus on character development and relationships. I really wish more people would read it.

Hopefully with the recent anime Ooku gets some more love and Fumi Yoshinaga in general!
