Mangalorean Style Squid Masala | Calamari Masala - Traditional Recipe
As a Mangalorean, my love for seafood is so immense. Getting fresh fish here, and that too of our choice is a bit difficult. But once we get it, its like heaven for us. Here it is, a “Squid / Calamari Masala “from my kitchen.
Squid/Calamari is a tasty and spicy seafood delicacy from Mangalore. You can prepare squid masala in a different style, with or without coconut only fry or masala fry. Here I like to introduce to you a spicy and dry preparation of squid; it goes very well with boiled rice and a simple dal. The end result is absolutely succulent, trust me! For those of you who love eating spicy seafood, this dish is a must try. Do try this aromatic spicy seafood delicacy and enjoy at your home.
List of ingredients
400 gms cleaned washed and drained squids
For marination
Salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric and 1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 large onion
2 tsp coconut oil
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp chilly powder Kashmiri
1/2 tsp spicy chilly powder
salt as per taste
few curry leaves
2 tsp tamarind water
