He's finally bringing it back the old Kassadin lethal assassin mage build, considering that The mana item gives you barrier when fully stacked is one good thing about this build, I make a comment about few months ago that when the 13.10 patchs comes in he won't be able to build the rod of ages build since adc is durable enough and he will have to play the old school assassin type which where he is the best, Hoping for more kassaden

As funny as it may seem, Rod of Ages, when fully staked, gives the highest base ap among the game's mythical items.

is ludens the standard build? can't tell if it's just bc of big lead ans/or matchup

ludens is pretty good for that game as everyone is squisy in that team. you can also burst ekko without letting him R by casting Q into a burst. but again he was really ahead. not standard as builds on kassadin are always according to matchup/team

Ludens is the standard build even from long ago after the 2016-2017 meta, Kassadin is an AP mage kassadin and his job is to assassinate people, There's a video of mangofish playing kassadin over 1 or 2 year ago back then the Mana build with barrier is not available so he only play based on experience and assassinate the carries and try to survive after the dive, but ludens and mana is the core item then zhonyas.
