1. The ramp usually is put up at the housing area to make sure drivers slow down. This system started approx 30 years ago coz at that time a lot of road casualties in the housing area involving kids. 2. Drivers usually give way to motorcyclist 1- to avoid unnecessary accident. Coz we know if the motorcyclist died, we will guilt ourself for life. 2- If the motorcyclist hurt, other motorcyclists come for help it might turn out to be racial issue & not purely road accident. 3. Potholes - local authorities too slow to react. Sometimes road user need to call to report. I remembered seeing on facebook there is a group of ordinary guys (having their own day job) doing their social deeds to repair the potholes whenever they know there is one. They are doing it for the good of motorcyclist as they are also one of them.

Si 🦁 pa, life is hard here, every minutes count. The more round the rider go and deliver food, the more they earn. Also because they know others car driver will know how to avoid them and let them go first. Talking about the roundabout, why the driver at junction of the roundabout are so daring to go ahead of ongoing cars coming, it is because if you don’t dare to go, you will never go, haha 🤣. Because most of the time the on going traffic at roundabout will not give way, so it is all up to your skill of driving and daring. Most of the time during peak hours, traffic are very very heavy, so everyone try their very best to beat traffic congestion, we all have this mindset, the faster you go, the better it is to avoid even worst traffic congestion. So, if you can don’t go out at peak hours, unless necessary. All the best in your continuous discovery of Malaysia. By the way, no one countries have the best in all things, so just do with it and live happily, practice patience, give and take, be kind and tolerant. If all of us can have this attitude, the world will be a better place. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

如果遇上不会英语的收银员或店员。你可以和他说:I'm sorry, I'm from Hong Kong. I don't understand Malay.他们听得懂的。他们一直和你们说马来话,因为他们以为你们是当地华人。
Morning Lion family. I feel bad that you feel insecure here due to inability to speak Malay. Should you encounter problems interacting with the locals, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'll be glad to help. Anyway if anyone were to bully you for not being able to converse in Malay. You just need to tell them: saya Hong Kong mari! Tak tau Malay! Have a nice day there. Stay Safe 💝

I live in Hk but I can’t read Chinese. Every time when I buy things, I asked people especially at markets, people are so angry. They look at you one kind and I have to tell people I can’t read Chinese so that they are not annoyed with me especially when I can speak Cantonese but I can’t read Chinese. I remembered when I first came to hk 26 years ago, I always struggle to buy things, like shampoo and conditioner cause everything is written in Chinese, just like in Japan, everything is written in Japanese. I always asked for help and people are annoyed and not helpful. They see me speak Cantonese but can’t read, like I am fooling around with them 😃
Every time I go out to take the food from the food riders, I tell them not to rush yourselves to deliver the food to us, we don’t mind to wait as your lives are more important & I give them tips for appreciation of their effort as they really risk their lives to send us food under hot sun & some times drench their bodies with rain!

Haha. 1. The bump on road normally built by residents prevent the cars and motorists speeding around the areas. The holes issues are government not fixing it in timely ma nner. 2. Some drivers think if they dont go, they need to wait a long time. Singaporean always says, if they can drive in malaysia they are king in road cause they are scared too. 3. Use google translate voice, if u need one day and say "We not Malaysian, from HK - tak boleh bahasa/cant speak Malay" May take a long time to adapt living in Malaysia, i myself found it hard to drive after many years aboard. Ga Yau, add Oil !
Foodpanda and grabfood based on commission. So they trying to deliver as fast as possible for maximum profit.

Hi MangoHK, FYI, the board game is called "car-rom" & very popular before arcade games begin (before the boom of electronics games (ie. "tetris brick"-PC-hand held-mobile games). If not mistaken, carrom originate from India & popular in south east asia (low cost game, cheap board, no need batteries or electronics et). There are many tournament in M'sia back in the 70s, before slowly missing from the scene with PC & handheld (ie, Nintendo, Bricks etc) becoming the more popular entertainment games. There were even "World Cup" series for carrom with participants from around the world.
Those holes on the roads are the responsibilities of the municipal authorities. Even I am born here, I always cursed the road authorities for not monitoring the road conditions. Everytime I hit one of those holes I will swear in cantonese. If one of those holes caused damage to your vehicle, you can claim from the authorities.

The Malays and others could not identify Malaysian Chinese, Hongkies, Mainlanders, Taiwanese, Japanese and Koreans - as all looks the same to them. For Malaysian Chinese can identify Hongkies, Taiwanese, Mainlanders, Japanese and Koreans easily.

HK is small the demographic of Malaysia is big, you should try driving in Australia, USA or Europe they are not any better roads are equally bad. HK is small easier for local councils to tar the roads.

Some Malaysian drive recklessly. Either too slow or too fast . I always advise my son to give way to avoid any accidents. We as Malaysian Chinese sometimes have problems communicating with the Malay coz they speak too fast. So it's better to tell them you are from Hong Kong.
