About the Artist:
Akaash Bhootooa: Akash L.Bhootooa was born to a musical family in Mauritius. He was initiated to the Tabla by his uncle Sri Sanjay Bhootooa from the tender age of six. After completing his higher school certificate, he pursued his graduation in Performing Arts Tabla at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute and the University of Mauritius. At present, he is receiving intensive taleem by none other than the living legend Ustad Sabir Khan Sahab- khalifa of Farukhabaad Gharana. Moreover, Akash is working as a Music educator under the Ministry of Education and is also a Partimer at the Mahatma Gandhi Ins. in Mauritius. As a Tabla player, he has accompanied various vocalists, instrumentalists and performed in various concerts.
Vomesh Bhootooa: Vomesh was born to a musical family in Mauritius. He was initiated to the Tabla by his elder brother Sri Akash Bhootooa from the tender age of four. After completing his higher school certificate in Mauritius, he was awarded a scholarship by the High Commission of India to pursue his Graduation in Tabla at Rabindra Bharati University. Coming to Kolkata, he became the student of the legendary living legend Ustad Sabir Khan Sahab-Khalifa of Farukhabaad Gharana and started his regular taalim from Him. As a tabla player, Vomesh has accompanied various vocalists, instrumentalists, dancers and symphony orchestras which included several co-musicians worldwide. He has performed in various concerts like Sri Sathya Sai Youth World Festival 2016, World Music Day Meet 2017, IIT Virasat 2018, Basasnt Utsav Meet 2019... He has played in various musical albums of various genres such as soft rock, Saga, reggae, devotional... He played in the Sega singer Cassiya’s album “Pa Badine”
