An absolute description of what these Jack kings go through every week distress and constantly casting but when you get one shit it pays off so you fish the Nerang for jacks much? Or was it just a one off just started getting into it and haven’t found like barely any vids around the Nerang for jacks
@LiamFitzpatrick Жыл бұрын
Not as much as I’d like mate. I’ve fished the Nerang for over 20 years but haven’t filmed a heap of jack stuff in there.
@RocketsFishingAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Soul destroying. I agree, that is a very apt description for Jack fishing, especially for someone who hasn't caught many Jacks before. They guys like Owen and Mick Horn who put in the big hours week in and week out to learn the systems earn their fish the hard way.

I am sorry to be the only one saying this but it wasn't put out of its misery at first and I knew you put it in a live bait tank but it didn't look like there was any filtration system but I might be wrong, I did really like the video great help cheers!

The pump was turned of while filming mate. Otherwise the spray and bubbles hides the fish. It’s fully plumbed with pump in, pump out and recirculate.

Hey mate just wondering what do you think is the best kinda size rod/reel/line spin combo for jack fishing? What do you recommend
@LiamFitzpatrick5 жыл бұрын
Jordan Cama Depends on the technique mate. For burning big plastics like we mainly did in this vid I’d look at a 6’10”-7’2” rod give or take about 10-20lbs running 30-40lb braid and 20-40lb leaders but there is always exceptions to the rule mate.

Another great one Liam. I remember Timmy pulling that massive Jack out on the pontoon. Off the top of my head I think he went for a swim after getting wrapped around it and still managed to hold onto it. You have to hit it up again mate until you nail one.

Sometimes with fishing if one technique isn't working try another, maybe leaving the lure in the strike zone a bit longer might get a aggression strike or if it's a bit cooler than it has been they might be starting to slow up a bit, just a thought.
@LiamFitzpatrick5 жыл бұрын
Tony Allen Yeah the typical fast reaction bite retrieve approach isn’t always the best technique for every situation you really need to be versatile as a angler to succeed around these changing weather conditions. I’d say I just need more time on the water but don’t we all.

how slow is that ration the the reel man? looks like your reeling Way too fast for my liking.. lol i prefer slower fast retrieve (i got a 5:4 ratio so i have to reel kinda of fast but yours seems faster still)

Out of all the places to fish I never understand why people have to go right up into peoples backyards. It’s like someone trying to grab birds out of your tree out the front
@zlatkovuckovic64433 жыл бұрын
As much as you think you own the water backing up to your property, you don’t and he can fish their if he chooses to.

@@zlatkovuckovic6443 i know you dont own it hence the comment about you can do the same to a tree. Theres plenty of trees in the forest
