Thanks Joel great video will they bight in the dirty water that we have at present.

Thanks mate!! Absolutely!! They eat better! As it's dirtier water I see alot more actively for the predatory fish out hunting, only down fall is you can't see the snags you're fishing and lose a few lures but definitely worth having a flick!!

What an epic well presented video mate ( right off the top shelf ) helped me change my mind on next spin rod, was going heavier 5-10kg but never really felt comfortable with the idea might opt 2-6kg TD Wild Weasel, once again love ya work and always a good day when ya post - cheers !
@sandytrackxfishing281027 күн бұрын
@warrensimpson9541 thanks so much mate!! I always question myself when I do these vids as I don't know how I come across 😆 3-6kg are perfect mate that td wild weasel might be a bit light on. I use to run daiwa black rods and really liked then BUT they are very easy to break. I broke a few tips as they are a very thin rod and the eyelets are very small so struggle getting that longer cast. But that's just me, have a play with one and check them out for sure! They are a good sensitive rod! Thanks for you're kind words as always mate 👍

Always see you throwing paddle tails, I've literally never caught a fish on one. Curly tails for me every time. Whether it's because I'm so much further south or doing it wrong, I don't know. Just found it funny.
@sandytrackxfishing281028 күн бұрын
Hey mate!! Hmmmm that is strange! I say stick with it! Haha I don't use curly tails much mostly just for bream. Only advice on paddles is try and use the lightest jighead possible ( but as long as the tail moves on the drop) let it hit the bottom and give it two small twitches, let hit the bottom and repeat, fish them slow and you should find them!! Paddles are definitely the most successful!

Love that yr switched onto the whole Global Warming phenomenon. And how it’s gonna change our fisheries. A given I’m afraid. I remember seeing schools of Mangrove Jack off the Harrington Breakwall here on the Mid North Coast. Rubbed my eyes and said, “Am I seeing things, are they really Mangrove Jacks.” Yes they are buddy and in a few years you’ll probably see them in bloody Launceston.

Thanks mate appreciate the info!! Very good to know! Will be very interesting to see how global warming effects the rivers and creeks in the next couple of Hundred years for sure!! We just gotta appreciate it while we are here! Thanks for watching mate 👍

I thought north wind turns jacks on? brings the heat too.
@sandytrackxfishing281028 күн бұрын
Not in my experience mate haha doesn't matter what I target I always struggle on north winds. It's more the fact that north winds push straight up rivers and makes it extremely hard to fish. Usually go up creek into the skinny water to get out of the winds but unfortunately with all the rain we have it's dirty as up there.
@joe_ful0227 күн бұрын
Depends on where you live! In the Moreton bay region, northerlys push heat into the bay (and the tides take that into the creeks). our creeks are east-west so you don't get a lot of chop from northerlys. Makes for some good sessions!
@sandytrackxfishing281026 күн бұрын
@joe_ful02 great to know!! Thanks legend!! Yeah opposite here! Blows straight the rivers!! So frustrating haha the creeks can fish ok but because if the rain it's like a swamp up there unfortunately.

Spin - 3000 Certate on a 10-17 pound Samurai Reaction. Insane skip casting rod. Baitcaster - Daiwa Zillion on a 10-17 pound Loomis. I do have an Edge and I don’t really like it. I use 20 pound braid and leader as well. People fish way too heavy for Jacks. It’s all about comfort, casting accuracy and getting in front of their faces.
@sandytrackxfishing281027 күн бұрын
@mudgut69 well said mate!! 100% and perfect gear for the jacks to!! People fish way to heavy! Lock ya drag and have reflexes like a ninja cat and you will be fine!! Haha getting them to eat is the hardest part!! 🤙
@mudgut6927 күн бұрын
@@sandytrackxfishing2810 that’s right. No point fishing a Stella if you have the reflexes of a sloth. Good to see you mention the Mintoss Prawn. I bought them for Flathead in Yamba and they were brilliant. It’s now my second favourite Gold Coast plastic after Flash Arrow J Shads (the metallic foil they put inside the belly cavity gives that plastic a huge advantage in dirty water).
@sandytrackxfishing281027 күн бұрын
@mudgut69 yes mate! Those fish arrows are soooo good hey. Long as you only use it once haha soon as you take that jighead out the foil messes up but great lures!! Yeah I have to do a drew m prawn vid very soon!! Maybe down in yamba this week!

If the DC is Doing much for you, you haven't set it up right. DC and Mag spools have seriously changed the game for beginners entering the baitcaster scene
@sandytrackxfishing281026 күн бұрын
I have had that reel for about 5 -6 years so maybe I'm just complacent with it now haha it definitely helped me out at the start! And tighten it up helps with skip casting for sure. I usually pick it up when skip casting it's a little more forgiving then other reels.
@joe_ful0226 күн бұрын
@sandytrackxfishing2810 worth mentioning that you're not getting enough value out of DC with how far and common place Mag spooled casters have come. I'd argue that it's not much harder than learning with a DC, and you get the benefit of it weighing a whole lot less

Jacks and barra have been on the gold coast and northern nsw for 20 years has nothing to do with global warming its just the internet and social media that has blown fishing up and lures have come along way in the last 20 years has very little to do with global warming
@sandytrackxfishing281027 күн бұрын
I'll have to agree to disagree with this one haha yes they have been on the gold coast for years now but we are definitely seeing more barra!! Maybe they are breeding or more just migrating down. But yes with more and more population in this already crowded world unfortunately there's not going to be much left a secret and untouched! Just got to get out there and appreciate the little time with have I say!
@joe_ful0227 күн бұрын
This exactly! They've been down south for decades. Caboolture river being a notable mention as well. All global warming has done is wake them up
