Welcome to my Ironman run of Awakening. The rules for this run are simple, any units lost are gone forever and if I get a game over for any reason, the run is over, though I might re-start from scratch. The difficulty will be Hard Classic as Lunatic is a bit too RNG, but I will not be doing any grinding. I might unlock children units and einherjar units if I lose too many characters, and chat might get to vote on this.

This was my favorite ironman run because Mangs lost, despite recruiting excess spotpass units but the best part was when trying to recruit one of those units led to your downfall. Also the thing with losing Severa was great.

Believe me, I'm not defending Awakening since I think that it's the second worst FE game that I've played after Radiant Dawn. The final map especially is extremely annoying since you're completely exposed at all times, and over half of the maps are some boring fields anyway where you do nothing but tank the hits with the same four characters and then counterattack, otherwise you die for certain. I beat the game once in hard mode, but I had like six people left in my army since there were not any strategical possibilities on Grima's back. It was just some open field with ridiculously strong enemies (what a shocker).

He counts Severa as a death for some reason, even though she didn’t actually die. But by that logic, KELLAM should be here. However, I don’t know where my boi KELLAM is during this video. WHERE IS MY KELLAM? He should have just abused healing tiles in chapter 1 to get all units to level 15. I played the demo so many times waiting for this game to come out, I can tell you from firsthand experience that you can totally do it. All your weapons will be broken though, so it will be a chrom solo for a while. EDIT: wtf, 80 LIKES!!?!?! I DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO CREATE 79 NEW ACCOUNTS!

Try this again. Hard mode iron man is so difficult on this game because of endless reinforcements. It’s like the creators decided the best way to make the game hard was unlimited enemies with maxed out stats even on hard mode rather than unique map design with strategic enemy placements. It’s really annoying end game. Even the best units might be able to 1v1 a handful of enemies, but there are just too many because like 8 new enemies spawn every turn. Terribly unbalanced game in those terms.

I absolutely agree with you. It took me five different play-throughs to complete an Iron Man of Awakening on Hard/Classic. Most of the deaths were because of bullshit ambush spawns. By the end of my good run, only eight of the thirty-three units I recruited actually survived. On a side note my final team was: Robin (named Mao), Chrom, Panne as a Trickster, Anna, Henry, Lucina, Say'ri and Flavia.

Metorajetta I was exactly the same except I let everyone die besides Chrom, MU, Morgan, sayri. Chrom and sayri always on MU and Morgan. Both of them were dark mage with nosferatu. Just skipped enemies phases every turn because it takes soooooo long that it’s annoying.

Pavro w0t I think ambush spawns can be done very tactically. Not thae ones where is spawns on your end phase to move on enemy end phase though. They should spawn enemy end phase and you as a player can move around them. But they also should not be endless waves of sky riders that are unaffected by terrain just to bombard your healers and weaker units for no reason.

@@covershopkid The whole Robin/Chrom beatdown also happened for me as well. Although my final play-through had no grinding besides a couple of paralogues. Furthermore I didn't bother re-classing any of them, besides Panne of course, and merely used Second Seals to max their class' stats.

Okay, One Thing: always check how far the enemies can go and what kind of weapon they have, ESPECIALLY before moving a flying unit, infantry or a knight, someone who can get extra damage from some sort of weapons in general Another thing: Check on the skills they have! Counter is a mean little skill and you should always consider killing guys with that skill with magic, bows, javelins, etc.... Well, to sum it up, PLEASE LOOK AT THE ENEMIES BEFORE MOVING YOUR UNIT IN THEIR DIRECTION

Yup. First thing I do every map is highlight every archer so I know where my flyers can't go. If there's too many archers, I won't even take flyers. Check for special weapons and note those. See if I need to bring any special weapons of my own. Check the boss stats and whether they can move. Finally, decide whether to take the A-team or whether I can send some weaker units for leveling. ONLY THEN do I press "go."

I was doing an Ironman of awakening to follow along following the same rules as mangs. I got to grima and almost died due to a miss but chrom came through with a double aether proc which mathed out to only be a 30% of happening. If chrom missed a single time I would have lost the fun right at the end.
