what about the following : Surah Ali-’Imran, 3:169-172 وَلاَ تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ أَمْوَاتًا بَلْ أَحْيَاء عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ Wa laa tah-saban-nal-laziina qutiluu fii Sabiilil-laahi ‘am waataa. Bal ‘ahyaaa-’un ‘inda rab-bihim yurzaquun; 169. But do not think of those that have been slain in God’s cause a dead. Nay, they are alive! With their Sustainer have they their sustenance. So essentially you can request Ahlul Bayt as they are all martyred the intercession on behalf of us to Allah (swt) as they are more close to Allah in all respects.
