Some of my favorite memories: (I’ll keep adding to this once I remember more) 1. My dad works downtown and sometimes when I was little I would go to work with him and my mom would come to get me. One very rainy night we were in the back of a cab and I just sat and looked out the window at all the lights. 2. Me and my family went to see a play in the most beautiful theater. There was red carpet and chandeliers everywhere also the ceiling was this glass dome thing. After the play we got coffee and desserts.

New Years Eve 2019, for the first time I've decided not to go out and do anything. I turn this on, and pour myself a drink. Reminiscing about the past year, and what the next one will hold for me. It's been a roller coaster, but I like to think I'm ending the year better off than how I started it. I've gotten a promotion, picked up a new hobby, quit smoking, and taken control of my drinking habit. Those last two weren't easy, but I think one of the things that has helped me can apply to a lot of issues people take with themselves around this time of year. Quitting a bad habit, or forming a new positive one, is not made in one single massive decision. It's a long string of very small ones that add up. I didn't just up and quit smoking cigarettes, and that being the end of it. It's been three months and I'll still get cravings 4-5 days out of the week. Every time, I decide not to spend that money, or do that damage to my body, or waste that 10 minutes. It's still not easy, but when you break it down into little pieces, and spread it out over the days and weeks, it feels a lot more possible. So you may not hit the gym every day you were planning to this week, or you may not be able to go an entire day without a cigarette, but make a move. Go to the gym once this week, or skip that extra cigarette after work. You don't need to turn your entire life upside down in one day to start bettering yourself, a little bit over a long time will add up.

Just after 2:00 PM here in the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona. Online school is a pain. Mixes like these, however, make it a lot more bearable. As a teenager from the suburbs of a city in the middle of a desert, I’m jealous of the people who have rain regularly to add to the vibe of these songs. No only that, others don’t have to deal with the regular 104 degree (40 degrees Celsius) weather. Arizona shines in the winter. The area I live in gets functionally zero snow, so its just autumn like weather all throughout winter. Low to mid 70s temperature wise.

I’m not from Manhattan, but I am from Boston. Coffee in the morning after a brisk walk from the subway.. enjoying a warm cup of coffee -black- w/ a cigarette lit as it rains gently. Plenty of patio seats under an umbrella to where you can watch the traffic roll past. People and their umbrellas and the swishing Of wiper blades and head lights piercing through the trickle of rain. Calm and serene. I miss my city more then I can bear..

Imagine this setting: It’s a rainy day in Manhattan, the cars drive past and the people walk. All in their own little worlds. The light from the high rises illuminate the grown beneath your feet. You stroll up to a old and quaint coffee joint. As you push open the dark wooden door a strong yet pleasing smell of Tobacco hits your nose. You sloop down into a comfy leather chair and start to read this mornings newspaper. You stand up and start to walk toward the counter, the odd floorboard creek along the way. The soft patter of the outside rain soothes your ears as you get handed your usual morning cup. The smell wofts through the air and through your nose, Strong espresso, black just the way you like it. You resume your reading coffee in hand mellow and at peace for a productive day ahead. You get up to leave. Slotting you’re paper back into its place and placing your cup gently on the table. Your feet drag along the wood flooring as you push open the door and smell the crisp fresh air and feel the water on your face. You pull out your umbrella to keep shielded from the rain, the only indicator it’s there is the soft patter in the concrete roads. As for you it’s time to join the thousands that walk past everyday. Who know where they are going and who knows when they will arrive all you know know is it’s time for you to join them as you drift off into your own world consumed by your device in your hand and without a care in the world you slowly blend in with the crowd and it’s on with your day from there.
