Manhattan Skyline

Our next piece was arranged in 1990, and as someone who has played in brass bands for a very long time, I’ve performed it several times with various bands over the last 25 years. However, it was only when I was researching it for my programme notes for the Proms Concert earlier in the year I discovered where it came from. The 1977 movie ‘Saturday night Fever’ is well known for the Bee Gees songs ‘Night Fever’, ‘How Deep is Your Love’ and of course ‘Stayin’ Alive’, but there is an entire soundtrack to the film with some other less well known numbers on it. Our next piece is one of those numbers, Manhattan Skyline.
