So the reason why you see toys is because the original pitch for Man Hunt 2 is Danny and Leo were going to be separate characters you can take control of Danny for some reason hears voices in his head and of course it's from a ventriloquist doll and thinks it's the voice of God.

That's crazy, so Daniel and Leo would have been full blown schizophrenics taking orders from a doll instead of being MK sleepers? It was probably for the better story wise, but still interested in how that would have played out. I miss that R*.

One minor correction. The original pitch was about a devout Christian man who heard God’s voice telling him to kill people. The second pitch was about a man who was being controlled by a doll, (named Frisbee) ordering him to kill people. Danny and Leo were conceptualized after these two pitches.

WRONG. Danny and Leo concept were later added, sure originally the game was supposed about a doll and ventriloquist behind telling the main character to kill people but the main character doesn't even have name yet.

I have a fun theory: the doll was originally the doll that connected the ending of Manhunt 1 (spoiler alert: it's the kid show at the end of Manhunt 1 which may indicate that was where they hide those crazy snuff films in this), and I think Danny might have been watched those snuff films to being manipulated with violence and dolls as a part of an experiment by a bigger guy (or by Danny's mental issue) ... but if this connected to the first game, then I think it could be Mr. Nasty who did this kid show I think that is how Manhunt 2 originally gonna be like But if you think about it ... **that's more disturbing than the actual one**

i think there is a TV station in manhunt 2 that have gore in it. It must have been Mr Nasty shakes hands with the project since in the MK TV station there is a white rabbit suit of the manhunt 1 game.

There were epilogue recordings on MH1's website with the reporter being in a mental asylum commenting how powerful people put her there, it's possible they had MH2 planned as early as MH1's production.

They were definitely going for this kind of tone with the TV Studio level, a spin-off aiming for a more satirical tone would be a good idea to me, maybe something a little lighter if R* ever dared test the waters of releasing more titles in the series. I heard about a concept for 2 also consisting of a schizophrenic protagonist with religious delusions that I think would also make for an interesting take on the "Director" trope (Starkweather, Leo, Frisbee, "God")
