As an American painter in oil, I've found watercolor mildly interesting. Until I discovered NIHONGA! This type of water-based medium kicks it up to a whole new level! I am awestruck by your paintings! Then you add precious metal leaf! WOW!

Thank you🥰 Japanese gold leaf is very thin and difficult to use, but it is suitable for sticking on flat surfaces and fine irregularities. Introducing a site with many beautiful colorful metal leaves🤤⇒hakuichi.jp/products/list.php?category_id=12 Most of the gold leaf produced in Japan is produced in Kanazawa prefecture. I want to go there…
I can tell you take good care of your tools 🥺 every time I watch you’re videos I’m wowed just by the process… it is an art in itself 💚

I thought I have seen everything already but I learned about the beautiful Nihonga paints I have never seen before from your video. I love how you present everything gently and neatly and the care you put into taking care of your art supplies as well as your delicate artwork. I love your soothing voice. Thank you for teaching me about Nihonga and seeing the process with gold leaf. Your artwork is brilliant with these techniques and has an extra shine. Hope you have a good day.

That’s an amazing collection of pigments! The process reminds me of handmade watercolors, but for watercolors the pigments need a lot of mulling. The binders are also completely different, I wonder how the differences between nikawa and gum arabic affect the process…

By seeing your videos i really want to try Japanese style paintings. Surely the materials required in that look overwhelming at first but I would like to get started. Could you suggest some reading material (like books) for beginners in order to get started? Thank you very much! 🌹❤

Thank you so much for this video! I've always wanted to try painting with dried Japanese pigments, but found it very intimidating. This video made it seem a lot clearer. Also very jealous of your pigment collection, its beautiful!
What type of washi is best for "Nihonga" painting? A Dosa sized paper or a non-sized paper? Im looking through Pigment lab toyko's website to buy some of their stuff and dont know which washi to buy?
Ouaahh i missed the live 😭😭 Sensei you said 9:30 a.m. in Japan so it should be 2:30 a.m. in Europe, i was here but there was no video😥 Btw i really like all those little bottles and stuff, especially the tiny spoons are just too cute 😍

I'm really sorry! I was desperate to calculate the time difference and was unaware that I copied the wrong number in the most important part 😭🙏 There is a considerable time difference between Japan, Europe, and the United States.

@@kaitekiart7666 Its okay sensei🤗 It is confusing indeed so next time you could just write what time in Japan it will start
